Hubby loves the name [name]Locke[/name] (not as a nn for [name]Lachlan[/name]) but I’m afraid it’s a little too out there. I love the meaning and hubby has a connection to it. I also like that it’s not very common. Anyway I’m torn, what do you guys think? And what would you pair it with as far as sibling names?
So [name]Locke[/name] is a weird name for me. In [name]German[/name] [name]Locke[/name] means curl, as in a lock of hair. So for me it wouldn’t be useable.
I think it feels a bit mismatched with the rest of your boys names. But I think it could actually work nicely as a middle name.
[name]Maximus[/name] [name]Locke[/name], [name]Alexander[/name] [name]Locke[/name], and [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Locke[/name] all sound rather handsome.
I think it’s a bit unusual as a stand alone name but I don’t think it will be too strange… It does make a handsome middle name, like lexiem suggested. Sebestian [name]Locke[/name] is a stunning name, and maybe your DH could nickname him [name]Locke[/name]?
Honestly, I don’t like it. It would be kind of cute on a little kid but it wouldn’t transition nicley to an adult. I would say use it for a middle name though! (:
[name]Sib[/name]-set ideas:
[name]Locke[/name] & [name]Finn[/name]
[name]Locke[/name] & [name]Bryce[/name]
[name]Locke[/name] & [name]Knox[/name]
I have it on my own list as a middle name, but I think it could totally work as a first name. I believe there was a character on Lost who was called [name]Locke[/name], but I think that was the character’s last name (because I just Googled it…I’ve never actually watched the show). I don’t see why it wouldn’t fit in with all the single-syllable boys’ names that have really come into style: [name]Lane[/name], [name]Cael[/name], [name]North[/name], [name]Grey[/name], etc. Word names are in, single-syllable names are in, the the hard “-cke” ending sounds very masculine to me.
Not crazy about [name]Locke[/name]. Maybe as a middle name? More than anything, if you aren’t sure, it’s probably not the best name for your little one.
I only know 1 [name]Locke[/name]. I don’t mind this name but I’m not crazy about it either.
I actually have [name]Sebastian[/name] [name]Locke[/name] on my list, so of course I think this name combo is stunning.
I think [name]Locke[/name] could be fine as a first name, but then again, I also like [name]Sherlock[/name].
Still really torn, one day I love it and the next day I think it sounds too abrupt with the -cke ending. I do love that it’s really masculine. The hubby loves [name]Locke[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] as a combo. Still debating…I saw another post about a couple who had a little boy named [name]Locke[/name] [name]Harry[/name]. I love that combo too. We’ll see.
