[name_m]Henry[/name_m]? Does it work, or is it too much of a stretch? My husband is in love with [name_m]Henry[/name_m], but I don’t love [name_m]Hank[/name_m] or [name_m]Hal[/name_m] as nns.
It works–and [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is much preferable to [name_m]Henry[/name_m], though not really a favorite of mine.
I think it is too much of a stretch but there was an older thread on this and a few people seemed to like it on an ‘H’ name.
[name_m]Chuck[/name_m] is short for [name_m]Charles[/name_m] so my suggestion (was back then and still is) that [name_m]Huck[/name_m] may not be too much of a stretch for [name_m]Charles[/name_m].
There was also a suggestion of using 2 names
Henry Tucker for [name_m]Huck[/name_m].
The other half of [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] is [name_u]Finn[/name_u]… So [name_u]Finn[/name_u] nn [name_m]Huck[/name_m] was my other suggestion.
But it really isn’t that outlandish so I don’t think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] nn [name_m]Huck[/name_m] would be that bad.
I actually think that it works, I don’t think [name_m]Henry[/name_m] to [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is too much of a stretch at all.
I think it works. I mean, if [name_m]Hank[/name_m] can be a nn, why not [name_m]Huck[/name_m]? I’ve thought of using [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a nn for [name_m]Hugo[/name_m].
[name_f]Love[/name_f] [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I dont think it needs a nn. But then if it did, id use [name_m]Hal[/name_m] because I love it.
[name_m]Huck[/name_m] is also cute as a button though.
I like [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think [name_m]Huck[/name_m] does work as a nn.
I thing you can call your son whatever you want to! A nickname doesn’t necessarily need to be “short” for a given name. [name_m]Huck[/name_m], though, I think is so cute and you should definitely use it!
Yes! Super cute! Also consider [name_m]Harry[/name_m], as it is a nn for [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
I def think it would work. I second the above comment that a nn doesn’t have to be short for a given name.
I think [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is soooo super cute. And I love [name_m]Henry[/name_m].
On the other hand:
Someone suggested [name_m]Henry[/name_m] [name_m]Tucker[/name_m] up above as well, and I do think that is a good idea if you don’t already have a middle.
Then you’d most def get [name_m]Huck[/name_m] out of that! :]
I don’t think it’s too much of a stretch, [name_m]Huck[/name_m] for a [name_m]Henry[/name_m] would work.
[name_m]Huck[/name_m] is a great, under-used nn for a lot of names! I think it works, and I love it. I am partial to [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] though
I thought about using [name_m]Huck[/name_m] as a nn for [name_m]Huxley[/name_m]…
I know a [name_m]Huck[/name_m] whose real name is [name_m]Robert[/name_m], I’m not sure why…, but its a possibility.
Stretch or no, if you’re consistent in using it, the nn will feel natural and it will stick.
