I am a massive Hunger Games fan, and I really love how creative the names are! I was wondering if other berries would use some of the girls names that are in the books/films? For those who don’t read the books or watch the films, the names are below:
I like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Effie[/name_f], [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f] and [name_f]Alma[/name_f], but I probably wouldn’t consider using them, not because of the associations with the books/movies, but because I just don’t like them that much.
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Hazelle[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f] and [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] are beautiful but I probably wouldn’t use any of these, except for [name_f]Hazelle[/name_f](would spell it [name_f]Hazel[/name_f]).
I would use [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Hazelle[/name_f], [name_f]Portia[/name_f] (if it wasn’t off limits), and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f]. I also like [name_f]Glimmer[/name_f] and [name_f]Posey[/name_f], but will probably never use those two.
[name_u]Rue[/name_u] would make a pretty nickname as well.
[name_f]Katniss[/name_f] as a name really put me off the whole series. I can see it as a futuristic name and it was a great pick for a book like this, but I don’t find it appealing.

Oh these, I would definitely be open to using [name_f]Effie[/name_f] as a nickname, and [name_f]Alma[/name_f] (I really like the idea of this as a mn right now, as a nod to a friend whose ln mean “spirit”)
[name_f]Annie[/name_f] - I would use [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as a nickname.
[name_u]Clove[/name_u] - I might consider [name_u]Clove[/name_u] as a middle name.
[name_f]Posy[/name_f] - I would use [name_f]Posy[/name_f] as a nickname.
[name_f]Portia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f], [name_f]Johanna[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Octavia[/name_f], [name_f]Cressida[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Alma[/name_f] and [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f] are not strictly Hunger Games names like most of the rest. They’ve been used throughout history and should be no problem for anyone to use.
I would use [name_f]Primrose[/name_f], [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Lavinia[/name_f], [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] & [name_f]Posy[/name_f]! I think these are all really great names. I wouldn’t ever really consider using any of the others though!
I like [name_f]Hazelle[/name_f], [name_f]Effie[/name_f], [name_u]Rue[/name_u] and [name_u]Clove[/name_u]. The others aren’t my style or are too associated with the games, maybe use those as middles. I love, love [name_u]Clove[/name_u]. I could never use it though since my name is [name_f]Chloe[/name_f].
I’ve been in love with [name_u]Rue[/name_u] ever since I saw the movie. I’m not sure if it’s enough of a name on it’s own, but that doesn’t stop me from loving it
I like [name_f]Annie[/name_f], [name_f]Effie[/name_f], [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f], [name_f]Posy[/name_f], and [name_u]Rue[/name_u], (as nicknames) and [name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]. I would consider [name_f]Ann[/name_f]/[name_f]Anne[/name_f] (with [name_f]Annie[/name_f] as a nickname) and [name_f]Cecelia[/name_f] [name_m]IRL[/name_m], but only because they are family names anyway. I really really like [name_f]Bonnie[/name_f] for some strange reason.
I know they are actual names that were used before The Hunger Games was written, but I included them because they are still in the books/films I didn’t really want to leave any out.
About the only thing I liked about Hunger Games were the names - and the what if of the whole concept. Actually I adored some of the names. Some of which are sort of on my list even….
I would absolutely use/or use a variant there of:
[name_f]Primrose[/name_f] - I really like [name_f]Primrose[/name_f] and nn Prim. I actually have [name_u]Penrose[/name_u] on my list - mostly because it’s less HG.

[name_f]Posy[/name_f] - I’ve always loved [name_f]Posey[/name_f] as a nn - I have issues with it as a fn. I just can’t see it on a resume for example. But as a nn for [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]/a or [name_f]Mariposa[/name_f] or something I think it’s fabulous.

[name_u]Rue[/name_u] - As a nn I think this is really good.
[name_f]Effie[/name_f] - Also as a nn I think this works well.
Venia - I don’t love this but find it intriguing.
I think this is too tied to the book:
[name_f]Katniss[/name_f] - I actually find the hissy end interesting on this one. And [name_f]Kat[/name_f] or [name_f]Nissa[/name_f] would be cute nn’s.
