My first thought is Evangaline. It had the “V” like [name]Vivienne[/name] and it’s also similar to [name]Evelyn[/name]. Whenever I see or hear [name]Vivienne[/name] the Vs stand out to me so other names with v in them seem similar to me such as,
[name]Veronica[/name]
[name]Virginia[/name]
[name]Violet[/name]/[name]Violette[/name]
[name]Ava[/name]
Averella
[name]Avalon[/name]
Evanora
[name]Lavinia[/name]
[name]Minerva[/name]
I agree that [name]Evelyn[/name] and [name]Josephine[/name] sound like they were meant to be sisters, but something about [name]Flora[/name] really caught my attention and, although it’s very much not my style … I couldn’t help but keep coming back to it for [name]Josephine[/name]'s sister. I can’t really say why – it just seemed like such a sweet set that made my heart melt a little bit.
[name]Violet[/name] is also a great suggestion from pp. If hubby would go for that, it would make a great sibset. So would [name]Ruby[/name].
I like all of your list except for [name]Charlotte[/name]. It’s a fine name, but especially with its current popularity, I just don’t think it is special enough to match [name]Josephine[/name], which is such a stunning name.
I voted for [name]Hazel[/name] and [name]Flora[/name].
Some other suggestions, and I apologize for any repeats:
From your list, I really like [name]Camille[/name] with [name]Josephine[/name]. They work together very well, imo! [name]Aurelia[/name] and [name]Charlotte[/name] were in second and third place, respectively. I think [name]Aurelia[/name] matches [name]Josephine[/name] on the more elaborate feminine front, while [name]Charlotte[/name] continues the regal French tones of [name]Josephine[/name]. I see someone already suggested it, but I really like the idea of [name]Josephine[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name] as sister names. [name]Apolline[/name] and [name]Anastasia[/name] were great suggestions too.
Other ideas:
[name]Bernadette[/name]
[name]Emmanuelle[/name]
[name]Adelaide[/name]
[name]Estelle[/name]
[name]Bianca[/name]
[name]Amalia[/name]
[name]Irene[/name]
[name]Eloise[/name]
[name]Louise[/name]
[name]Philippa[/name]
[name]Eleanore[/name] (I like is spelled like this with [name]Josephine[/name])
[name]Cecile[/name]
[name]Francesca[/name]
[name]Victoria[/name]
Philomène/[name]Philomena[/name]
Thanks everyone. I too love [name]Violet[/name] but it’s a close friends daughter’s name. So many of my friends have similar taste in names and it’s ruled out a lot of great ones. On top of that there are four more baby girls and three babies of unknown gender coming to friends before mine arrives so I need to have backups in case a friend chooses the same name we liked. [name]Ruby[/name] is another sweet one but it’s my brother’s wife’s name so I can’t do that. I think I’ve narrowed it to [name]Flora[/name], [name]Evelyn[/name], [name]Hazel[/name], [name]Eliza[/name], [name]Camille[/name], and [name]Aurelia[/name]. I like the suggestion of [name]Felicity[/name] and have toyed with it before but listen to it with our last name, “[name]Felicity[/name] Tillery”. Lots of repeating consonants. I say it five times and think its awful, five more times and think its spunky. I don’t know. [name]Flora[/name] is not a name I ever thought I liked but it’s really sticking with me.
I voted [name]Charlotte[/name] becauseI thought it matched best with [name]Josephine[/name]. (I didn’t see your final message til after I voted.) [name]Camille[/name] was my second choice. I think it’s stunning. Also I think [name]Aurelia[/name] would go nicely with [name]Josephine[/name] and I love the meaning.
I voted [name]Evelyn[/name] because it sounds most similar to [name]Vivienne[/name], and sounds great with [name]Josephine[/name]. Other names that might give you a [name]Vivienne[/name] feel that I can think of are [name]Sylvie[/name]/a, [name]Eve[/name]/a, [name]Genivieve[/name] (he could even use the [name]Vivi[/name] nickname with this). Good luck!
I voted for [name]Flora[/name] but [name]Camille[/name] was a close second.
What about [name]Vivica[/name]? I love that name and it’s similar enough to [name]Vivienne[/name] that your husband may be swayed. For the record, I think [name]Vivica[/name] has alot more spunk and spice
Also love the suggestion of [name]Phillipa[/name] - another of my favorites, and it’s absolutely fantastic with [name]Josephine[/name]
