Husband loves Aviv

I’m having a boy in [name_u]June[/name_u] and his older brother [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] has been going through chemo and will hopefully wrap up right before he is born. I like [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] because it is a saint name and because of the meaning “springtime”. Sort of like a new beginning for our family.

Anyways we have a very scottish last name (think macgregor). What do you think of the name [name_u]Aviv[/name_u]? With [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]?

We had tentatively decided on [name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_m]John[/name_m] but now husband’s getting cold feet and said he really likes [name_u]Aviv[/name_u]…

Aviv has a lovely meaning and sound but it is very different to your boys. If you don’t mind that, I’d say go for it

I’m so sorry to hear about [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]! I hope everything continues to go well with his treatment, and sending lots of positive vibes your way

Aviv… I really like the sound. It’s very fresh and sparky, and I love the springtime connection. I do agree with @Greyblue that it has a very different vibe to your other boys’ names — much more of an international feel and a cleaner, crisper, spikier sound. I don’t get that warm woodsy vibe from [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] that I get from your other names.

I still adore [name_u]Florian[/name_u] for you, and it seems like a really springlike, optimistic name as well, with the connection to the spring goddess [name_f]Flora[/name_f] and the lovely meaning of “flourishing”.

TL;DR [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] is certainly a cool, handsome and interesting choice, but [name_u]Florian[/name_u] is dreamy

Yeah that’s almost exactly how I feel too! [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] is interesting but so different. This is by far the hardest baby to name :joy:

I really like [name_u]Aviv[/name_u]! I like [name_u]Florian[/name_u] too but I love [name_u]Aviv[/name_u]’s spunk!

I wish [name_u]Rowan[/name_u], you, & your husband the best of luck.

I love [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] & [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]! ^.^

Sorry to hear about [name_u]Rowan[/name_u]. That must be so hard on you all. I am sending you positive well wishes.
I am loving the idea that [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] means spring time. It isn’t really a name I like though if I’m honest, to me it does feel like it’s missing half of its name. Like it stops short of being a full name.
Plus I’m totally in love with [name_u]Florian[/name_u] and I think [name_u]Florian[/name_u] can also mean the spring time as its meaning means flowering.
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] and [name_u]Rowan[/name_u] just sound soooo perfect together too. Florian is so appealing. It’s such a great name
[name_u]Florian[/name_u] [name_u]Aviv[/name_u]? Maybe? Or Florian John Aviv? So hubby is pleased.

Just wanted to add, [name_u]Aviv[/name_u] reminds me of [name_u]Nev[/name_u] Schulman (host of MTV Catfish)‘s full name Yaniv
