Husband really likes...

[name_f]Emily[/name_f], for a hypothetical daughter #2. But we already have an [name_f]Elise[/name_f]. Too close, right?

I suggested [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] for a compromise, but he’s not really feeling it, despite being an aviation guy.

[name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is a no. I like [name_f]Amy[/name_f], but it’s a maybe for him at the moment.

Suggestions for a strong, simple classic like [name_f]Emily[/name_f] that doesn’t begin with E?

Similar to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] but doesn’t start with E;
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Romilly[/name_f]
[name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_f]Victoria[/name_f]
[name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Philippa[/name_f]
[name_f]Cora[/name_f]
[name_f]Leonie[/name_f]

[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Angelina[/name_f]
[name_f]Amity[/name_f]

I actually don’t think it’s too close. I think it’s a good sib-set. I also think names like [name_f]Emma[/name_f], [name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (pronounced like [name_f]Amelia[/name_f], but with the E, so maybe your husband will like it), [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], and [name_u]Emery[/name_u].

[name_f]Non[/name_f]-E names:

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Katerina[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Claire[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f]

I like [name_f]Amy[/name_f] a lot. [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is nice, too. Some similar names:
[name_f]Vera[/name_f]

[name_m]How[/name_m] about [name_u]Everly[/name_u] or [name_u]Avery[/name_u]?

I do t find them too close at all. Suggestions with the same feel:

[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Kate[/name_f]
[name_f]Laura[/name_f]

Strong simple classic like [name_f]Emily[/name_f].

[name_u]James[/name_u], [name_m]William[/name_m], [name_f]Elise[/name_f], [name_m]Zachary[/name_m], and:

[name_f]Anna[/name_f]

[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

[name_f]Nora[/name_f]
[name_f]Rebecca[/name_f]
[name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Samantha[/name_f]

I think [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] go fine, but if not:

[name_f]Freya[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] (maybe he’ll like this?)
[name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Jessica[/name_f]
[name_f]Chloe[/name_f]
[name_f]Lily[/name_f]
[name_f]Annie[/name_f]
[name_f]Georgia[/name_f]

I instantly thought of [name_f]Annie[/name_f], or [name_f]Daisy[/name_f].

So many good suggestions!

I am a [name_f]Laura[/name_f], so that’s probably out. And although I absolutely adore [name_f]Anna[/name_f], it’s my daughter’s BFF’s name, so that’s most likely out, too.

He sounds like he likes [name_f]Cora[/name_f] so far. I’m thinking that’s actually too close to my name, but we’ll see how I feel if/when the time comes.

Thanks again for your help, all.

Since [name_f]Elise[/name_f] is [name_m]French[/name_m] how about the [name_m]French[/name_m] version of [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] which is [name_f]Amelie[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelie[/name_f] is very pretty. [name_f]Cora[/name_f] is pretty but I like [name_f]Coralie[/name_f] even more… how about [name_f]Elise[/name_f] and [name_f]Coralie[/name_f]?

I think [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and [name_f]Elise[/name_f] are nice together! Another thought for you is [name_f]Caroline, or Charlotte[/name_f].

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] and…

[name_f]Audrey[/name_f]
[name_f]Lauren[/name_f]/[name_f]Laurel[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f]
[name_u]Harper[/name_u]
[name_f]Lillian[/name_f]
[name_f]Phoebe[/name_f]
[name_f]Olivia[/name_f]
[name_f]Louise[/name_f]/[name_f]Louisa[/name_f]
[name_u]Alexis[/name_u]

[name_f]Kate[/name_f] or [name_f]Lucy[/name_f] or [name_f]Molly[/name_f]?

I don’t think [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is too close, but then you would have to decide if you want any future children’s names to start with E.

Some suggestions:
[name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f]
[name_f]Hazel[/name_f]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_f]Catherine[/name_f]

Similar to [name_f]Emily[/name_f] but no E.

[name_f]Elise[/name_f] &…

[name_u]Avery[/name_u]
[name_u]Aubrey[/name_u]
[name_f]Natalie[/name_f]
[name_f]Sophie[/name_f]
[name_f]Neve[/name_f]
[name_f]April[/name_f]

[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] is beautiful and sounds much more different than [name_f]Elise[/name_f]!
