Please see below my husband’s preferences for our future girl / s… We have similar taste BUT he doesn’t like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] & I am in love with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]. I would like our daughter to be named [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Any suggestions on how we compromise?

Have you considered using two middles for the combos you don’t think fit well with [name_f]Louise[/name_f]? For example [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Catherine[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] might sound better than just [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]. Maybe [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Tessa[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] and [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Claire[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]?

Well this is what I’d do if it was my husband and I. If he didn’t like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and I did, I wouldn’t use it. I would want him to love the name we chose as much as I did.
And as it seems as though you both love the other 3 names, I’d pick one of those. Popularity and flow doesn’t matter as long as you [name_m]BOTH[/name_m] are happy with the name- that’s the most important, at least I think it is.
And personally I think all three sound great with [name_f]Louise[/name_f], but [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is my favourite- super cute.

I agree with @sunkissedchild, if my husband did not like a name I liked, I wouldn’t use it! In the end, the name we picked out for our little guy was not even on my radar, but I am happy with what we chose, and I think you will be, too! It just takes some time.
That said, [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is definitely my favorite out of those choices. Perhaps it’s the area I live in (and I move around every few years!), but [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] has never struck me as popular outside of Nameberry (I am in the US). I think it’s adorable!
Since you like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f], how about [name_f]Araminta[/name_f], [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f].

Why not combine [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Amelia[/name_f] to get [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]? I think [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f]'s stunning, and [name_f]Aurelia[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] would be drop-dead gorgeous! I don’t love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] and [name_f]Louise[/name_f] together, but I love [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] so much I’m tempted to vote for it anyway. I love the nns [name_f]Lola[/name_f] and [name_f]Poppy[/name_f]!
I like [name_f]Louise[/name_f] with all three of the names! I don’t think it sounds bad at all! Maybe just to you because you have repeated and critiqued them so many times. I can see how you would not like the nicknames that come with [name_f]Clementine[/name_f], but I think a nickname you love will come once she’s here! I could see a little girl with that name being called [name_f]Mini[/name_f], NiNi, or [name_f]Tiny[/name_f].

I love, love [name_f]Clementine[/name_f]. It’s currently my number two name. I don’t think it’s too far out there at all. It’s unique and fun, but also familiar. I think there are a ton of nicknames that would work for [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] as well. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorites: [name_f]Em[/name_f], [name_f]Emme[/name_f], and [name_m]Ty[/name_m], even [name_f]Minna[/name_f]. There is also the cutesy [name_m]Lemon[/name_m] and [name_f]Tiny[/name_f] when she’s little.
That said, I have noticed that [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] is near impossible to find a flowing middle name for. [name_f]Clementine[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] actually sounds far better than many I’ve attempted to pair up. It’s a hard one.
The suggestion of [name_f]Araminta[/name_f] is lovely, also could go with a less frilly [name_f]Aminta[/name_f].
From his list, [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] is my pick! Since you both love [name_f]Louise[/name_f], why not use [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/ [name_f]Louisa[/name_f] as the first name? It’s not even in the Top 1000 US, so you it’s less popular than some of the other lovely choices on your list.
Maybe he could deal with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] in the middle spot! [name_f]Louise[/name_f]/a [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] sounds pretty!

We wouldn’t use [name_f]Louise[/name_f] as a first name, thank you for the suggestion though but it is my middle name, mothers middle name, grandmothers middle name, great grandmothers middle name etc. [name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f] is definitely the front runner at the moment; butI am also hesitating as [name_f]Kourtney[/name_f] Kardashian used it.
Ooo that is a bummer about Kourtney Kardashian… That is a bit of a drawback. If it’s any encouragement, I am American, and I really hadn’t heard anything about her choice. I mean, it doesn’t seem to have gotten as much press as North. (!!!) Penelope is still a lovely, classic, underused name in its own right, Kardashians or no.
I totally understand why you want to keep Louise in the middle. So neat you can keep a family tradition alive!
