Although I can see this name on both boys and girls, I slightly prefer on girls (In fact, [name_u]Marley[/name_u] was on my top 10 for a long time). Maybe if you feel isn’t “femenine” enough you can search for a name with [name_u]Marley[/name_u] as a nickname.

  • [name_f]Marlene[/name_f] / [name_f]Marlena[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Marla[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Marilyn[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Marielle[/name_f] / [name_f]Mariella[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Marlaine[/name_f]
  • [name_u]Marlowe[/name_u]

Or two names like:

  • [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Louise[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Lena[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Lucia[/name_f]
  • [name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]

Anyway, [name_u]Marley[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] sounds pretty nice to me.

You should name her something you love. If you suggest 20 names and he only suggests one, that doesn’t mean you have to use the only one he suggested. Perhaps he should compromise and figure out a way to like one of YOUR suggestions, or you can come up with another option together.

[name_u]Marley[/name_u] is okay, but if you don’t love it, don’t use it. Also the thing about it rhyming with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] is a good point to consider, since it’s a bit noticeable. I like @undertherainbow’s suggestions for variations on [name_u]Marley[/name_u], too.

Good luck!

I think you should use a name you and your husband love, it doesn’t matter if he brings up 1 name and you brought up 30. Both of you should compromise on using a name you and your husband love. If you don’t love [name_u]Marley[/name_u], bring up 30 new options to him and also, expect him to bring new options too. If [name_u]Marley[/name_u] is not a name you love, don’t compromise on it.

I think [name_u]Marley[/name_u] is a very cute name for a girl and would never have thought of it rhyming with [name_u]Charlie[/name_u] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] had you not said something. If you don’t love it, though, I agree with everyone else–try to find a name both you and your husband love. Settling often leads to name regret.

I don’t hate [name_u]Marley[/name_u], but I don’t love it either. I think it would work just fine on a girl, it feels unisex but more on the feminine side of unisex to me. [name_u]Marley[/name_u] [name_f]Noelle[/name_f] [name_m]Brown[/name_m] flows well and with a clearly feminine middle name it definitely seems like a girl’s name. That being said, if you don’t like it, you should get to use a name you love. What’s your son’s name and what are some other names you like? Maybe we could help you come up with something that you and your husband would both like.

It’s not bad, but it’s not my style.

Thanks, ladies!
