Huxley - silly or different?

[name_m]Just[/name_m] to put a bit of context around this, my 3 year old son is called [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] which we shorten to [name_u]Billy[/name_u] and I still love so I am after something a bit different. I’ve come across [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] and I like it (could be shortened to [name_m]Huck[/name_m]), but I can’t decide if it’s a bit silly. I know there are associations with [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] Pig but I can live with that (I had never heard of it myself and am hoping it isn’t a classic that gets rerun). any thoughts?

[name_m]Huxley[/name_m] is okay, I much prefer [name_m]Axel[/name_m], but it’s fine. I am not sure what [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] Pig is, so I would not worry.
Have you considered [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m]? [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] “[name_m]Huck[/name_m]” and [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u] “[name_u]Billy[/name_u]” would be smashing together!

I love [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] but the other half wouldnt have it - too out there for him
I have to try to tame my taste a little
thanks for your thoughts

I work with a little boy named [name_m]Huxley[/name_m]. It’s almost always shortened to Hux for him, and I think it’s lovely. It’s got the cool x sound, but it’s still sweet and unusual.

I think the name [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] is extremely handsome. I am all for the nickname [name_m]Huck[/name_m], or even Hux. Very cute!

I really like [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] but prefer the nm Hux. When I hear [name_m]Huck[/name_m] I think of [name_m]Huckleberry[/name_m] (which is perhaps why you’re feeling unsure), but feel [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] is much nicer, and a very cool name. I haven’t heard of [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] Pig.

I love the name [name_m]Huxley[/name_m]! I’ve got it on my own favourites list. To me it is a spunkier [name_m]Henry[/name_m]. I think it’s very handsome, and the nickname [name_m]Huck[/name_m] is so cute and wearable! I have never heard of [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] Pig. I think [name_m]Huxley[/name_m] would go really nicely with [name_u]Willoughby[/name_u], another striking name.
