My favourite from your list of ‘almosts’ is Annabelle “Annie”! It has the same southern charm as Josephine “Josie”, feels very classic and has a spunky nickname. Works beautifully!! Additionally, if Annie isn’t the preferred nickname, Josie and Belle would also be gorgeous!!

The thing I LOVE about this combination is two-fold. Firstly, Josie and Millie have that southern-belle ring that I adore. Secondly, I think Millicent draws out a more sophisticated side from Josephine; almost an old money feel.
I could then see a third daughter named Audrey. Whilst it doesn’t fit the bill of a longer name with a spunky nickname, I think it still has that two-sides of southern charm, but classic old Hollywood feel.
I would love to meet a Josie, Millie and Audrey sibset! (or Josephine, Millicent and Audrey!!)
Additionally I also love Caroline (Carrie/Callie), Madeleine (Maddy/Addy) and Adaline (Addy/Della/Ada) with Josephine. However, I personally wouldn’t use any of them purely to avoid the shared -ine ending. That would probably bother me more than two names starting with the name letter! I think the share -ee sound ending for the nickname is cute, but I like the whole name to be different, if that makes any sense!!
