Hypothetically,...

…what would you name siblings for, [name]Caspian[/name] and/or [name]Lilia[/name]? Warning, this may seem like a long ramble or a whacked post. Especially, by someone who is not even TTC any time soon. But I really need help to ease my mind and to help inspire me towards other names. I have been obsessing with this as if I was actually having kids, right this moment. Lol I have tried for months to think of it on my own, and have been trying not to annoy, Berries with my annoying post. But I figured, what are Berries here for, right? (At least it’s better than making up fake pregnancy stories.)

I know for sure if I have a girl her name would be [name]Lilia[/name]. It would have been [name]Liliana[/name], which I still love, but it irritates me beyond belief when people pronounce is as -anna instead of -ahna. Yes, I know, very mental.

In the case of [name]Caspian[/name] vs [name]Sebastian[/name]. I have loved the name [name]Caspian[/name] for years, but thought it was too much for a name. So a couple of months ago, I have come to like [name]Sebastian[/name], but not as much as [name]Caspian[/name]. I thought I should settle for the second best because it might be more accepted towards people. But then, I thought, why make myself unhappy (with potential name regret) to please others, who may only call his name in passing. My family has had the chance to pick names they liked, so I should be able to as well. I mean I can even see the name, [name]Caspian[/name] stand on it own as a doctor, lawyer, pirate, author, artist, teacher, athlete, whatever he wants to do in life. And for those who cannot handle the name, [name]Ian[/name] is a nice alternative (which holds meaning to me since [name]Ian[/name] is another form of [name]John[/name]).
`
So, if I ever have one boy and one girl, their names will be [name]Lilia[/name] and [name]Caspian[/name], but If I have more…here comes the problem. Heck, I might not even have any boys, but I just want to be prepared, which may seem to add fire to my insanity. I know siblings don’t have to have matchy names, but I don’t want a [name]Caspian[/name], and his siblings name is either [name]Joan[/name] or [name]Adam[/name]. I will save middle name suggestions for another post, but I want to at least be content with first names. But suggestions are welcomed.

I know these names are not everyones cup of tea, but if you could offer anything. So what siblings would you give each name?

[name]Caspian[/name] and
[name]Percival[/name]
OR
[name]Darcy[/name]

[name]Lilia[/name] and
[name]Isadora[/name]
OR
Charlemagne

Thanks ireland, [name]Percival[/name] never crossed my mind. I actually like it with [name]Caspian[/name], but one of my sister’s dad was named [name]Percy[/name] (short for perhaps [name]Percival[/name] or [name]Perseus[/name]). Would that be too weird?

Also, although [name]Isadora[/name] is cool, I actually thought [name]Lilia[/name] and [name]Isabeau[/name] would be nice too.

Thank you very much.

Any one else?

Hm…

[name]How[/name] do you pronounce Cleome? I have an idea, but not entirely sure.

It’s pronounced clee-OH-me. It is a really beautiful flower!

Thanks sunshine, I have added it to my list. I, Googled the flower and they are uniquely beautiful. I have never heard of it before and like the sound of it. I have always had a guilty pleasure for [name]Cleopatra[/name], but thought it was too much; and [name]Cleo[/name] was just to short. Cleome, seems to be a happy medium.

Not that it matters, but have you ever met a Cleome before?

I have also added [name]Fraser[/name]/[name]Frazier[/name] to my list. Not sure as a first name, but sounds cool if I can use it in a middle.

[name]Viola[/name]
[name]Wanda[/name]

Yay, I’m glad you like those names! No, I’ve never met anyone named Cleome, but it remind me a lot of [name]Naomi[/name], which seems to work very well as a first name!

My children are real, and their names are [name]Caspian[/name], Zephan, [name]Eve[/name] and [name]Peregrine[/name]. Each child was named as we went along, and has a story for how we arrived at each name, but I never really seriously considered the sibling set question until the fourth baby. Of course, at that point it was a naming dilemma of epic proportions, ha!

If we ever have any more, we are leaning towards [name]Ragnar[/name] for a boy. I love the idea of [name]Ivo[/name] as brother to a [name]Caspian[/name], but since we already have [name]Evie[/name] I’m afraid it would be way too confusing. You can pronounce [name]Ivo[/name] EYE-vo in the U.S. or EE-vo as it seems to be abroad, but we happen to know a couple of guys named [name]Ivo[/name] prn EE-vo so that wouldn’t work for us. I also like [name]Rhett[/name], [name]Riordan[/name], [name]Everett[/name] and [name]Lorenzo[/name] with [name]Caspian[/name].

For girls we are a bit stuck on where to proceed, but I do think your [name]Lilia[/name] is beautiful. I think [name]Rosalie[/name] or [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Cecily[/name], Ellowen, [name]Zara[/name] or [name]Verity[/name] could be quite amazing along side a [name]Caspian[/name] and [name]Lilia[/name].

[name]Caspian[/name], [name]Lilia[/name] and…
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Phoebe[/name]
[name]Alina[/name]

[name]Bastien[/name]
[name]Monte[/name]
[name]Sven[/name]
[name]Quentin[/name]
[name]Quincy[/name]
[name]Wilhelm[/name]
[name]Julius[/name]

[name]Cerise[/name]
[name]Renata[/name]
[name]Samara[/name]

[name]Justice[/name]/[name]Justus[/name]
[name]Benedict[/name]
[name]Judah[/name]/[name]Jonas[/name]
[name]Julius[/name]

Hypothetically, if you ever use [name]Isabeau[/name] as a first name, I’d send you 100 ecstatic kisses in the mail. I cannot express how much I adore this name, and can’t seem to get many people on board with it. Oh how I love [name]Isabeau[/name]!

Thanks to everyone who has responded. I haven’t forgot about the thread, I have just been under the weather.

[name]Ulysses[/name]: I really like the look of it, but I have trouble saying it right.
[name]Gideon[/name]: I really like this one, but I wonder if I can get over the meaning. Maybe the idea of [name]Gideon[/name] from early Criminal Minds will help?
[name]Micah[/name] and [name]Luca[/name]: Have met a couple of girls with this name, so kind of ruined it for me.
[name]Nathaniel[/name]: It bounces on and off my top like a ping pong ball.
[name]Roscoe[/name]: I can see this as a middle name. I used to have a coach with this name, so it sounds so [name]Jock[/name] to me. Good thing he was one of my favorites.

[name]Calliope[/name]: Super love this name since I was 18, but not sure if I can use it.
[name]Reverie[/name]: On my middle name list. [name]Love[/name] it’s meaning.
[name]Silvia[/name]: I have [name]Silver[/name] on my list to pay homage to my mom love of sterling silver.
[name]Salome[/name]: I like it, has a relaxing feel when saying it, if that makes since. Lol

Others I have already taken off my list, nms, or just unsure how I feel about it.

A million Thanks.

[name]Aurora[/name]
[name]Francine[/name]
[name]Daphne[/name]
[name]Seraphina[/name]

These would be my choices with [name]Caspian[/name] and [name]Lilia[/name], so Enchanting!

@ saracita: Your children have awesome names. I believe you were the one who introduced me to the name Peregrine. I actually had Zephyr(us) on my list as a possibility. I took it off when my niece said it sounded like I would be calling him, heifer. Lol

I love your suggestion of Riordan, I will have to test it out for a while. I think it will have pronunciation issues. If not first, a major possibility for a middle name.
Your girl names are cool, but I either know a Rose of some degree or bad memories of the other names, or too close to my neighbors children.

@kiskadee

I have added your suggestion of Daphne and Phoebe. I have like Phoebe since Charmed, and although Scooby Doo series, is still a favorite for many kids today, I think Daphne can work.

Even though I know they are too matchy, I like the sound of Calliope, Daphne, and Phoebe as sisters. Lol

Kaia: I have the Caia spelling on my list, and I like the name Gaia, too.

Forest and Oberon: I have both on my list. I have Auberon, too. Can never decided which spelling I like both. I guess Auberon is better as a first and Oberon is better for a middle?

Thank you for the other suggestions, but they are really nms or too close to a name I already have.

@kala_way

Thank you, you are close with my girl names, I have both Cerise and Samara on my list already.

I actually knew someone name Benedict.
Judah/Jonas too close to the boy band. Lol
Justus/Julius, I can see me using it, but I like other names that end in -us better.

Thanks again ladies!

It’s good that you’re sticking to [name]Lilia[/name] instead of [name]Liliana[/name], because [name]Lil[/name]iana is too close to Caspian.

I think they sound wonderful together!

[name]Caspian[/name] & [name]Lilia[/name] & Aslan (only slightly kidding) [name]Asa[/name]
[name]Caspian[/name] & [name]Lilia[/name] & [name]Theodore[/name]
[name]Caspian[/name] & [name]Lilia[/name] & [name]Peregrine[/name]

[name]Caspian[/name] & [name]Lilia[/name] & [name]Minerva[/name]
[name]Caspian[/name] & [name]Lilia[/name] & [name]Primrose[/name]
[name]Caspian[/name] & [name]Lilia[/name] & [name]Zinnia[/name]

Thanks for sharing ideas from your list. I have always thought you have intriguing taste in names.

[name]Dashiell[/name]: Another name that has bounced on and off my list. I am trying to get this association off my mind. And if I ever do, I can see it as a brother for [name]Caspian[/name] or [name]Lilia[/name].

[name]Deveraux[/name]: I think this is such an adorable name. I think the brave mouse helped me love this name. I adored the movie.

[name]Everard[/name]: Added to my middle name list. I like the variant Everheart/[name]Everhart[/name], too.

[name]Ignatius[/name]: I really really really like this one. Since middle school, I have wanted a son named [name]Iggy[/name]. I knew one named, [name]Ignacio[/name] and he was very cool and artistic. I regret we didn’t really talk more, but we were good associates. I just don’t if it will work for me. :frowning:

[name]Leopold[/name]: What do you think [name]Leonidas[/name]?

[name]Rogue[/name]: I like it as a feisty middle name, because the meaning leaves it with a stump.

[name]Sterling[/name]: I like this one too, I am torn between [name]Sterling[/name] and [name]Silver[/name] to use as stated in pp, to play homage to my mom love sterling silver.

Thank you.

@redwoodfey: I have private messaged you. I love [name]Isabeau[/name] about on the same level as you, so I hope I can use as a first name. I think the nn [name]Bo[/name]/[name]Bow[/name] is so adorable. I loved it when I first heard it on Ladyhawke, and I recently started watching Lost Girland she has only made me love it more. Although many berries find this name to masculine, I have only heard/seen/read for woman. I know that -beau is handsome and -belle is beautiful, but someone has also stated that the ending is -eau, but I have to do some more research on it. But still gorgeous in my opinion.

Thanks Ladies!

@can90

I have [name]Aurora[/name] on my list. I still think it could be a possibility for [name]Lilia[/name]'s middle name. That or [name]Aurore[/name]. I like the nn [name]Rory[/name]. I know too many people that can get tongue tied with the letter ‘r’.

[name]Francine[/name]: nms. I just cannot get behind this name. Since young I have had a major dislike of this name. I wonder why, I don’t think I have ever met someone with this name.

Thank you.

@ irmgard+theodorian

You kid, but I actually had [name]Caspian[/name], [name]Edmund[/name], and Aslan on my list. [name]Grant[/name] that Aslan and [name]Edmund[/name] were middle name options, but still on my list. Lol, until I realized the connection. [name]Don[/name]'t know why it didn’t hit me sooner.

[name]Primrose[/name] & [name]Zinnia[/name]: sort of like it, but I am trying to stay away from a flower theme. Although, sunshine.10, suggestion of, Cleome still lingers in my mind. I know its a flower name, only after I googled it. I wonder if anyone else would make the connection quickly.

Thanks ladies for your suggestions. I appreciate it!
