I cannot split two names

My husband and I haven’t been able to split these two names. Which one in more realistic and will suit a child and an adult?

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] or [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name].

I think [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] would better suit an adult. The nn [name]Penny[/name] can suit child/adult. [name]Beatrice[/name] is nice, but I can’t picture it on a child. And the nn [name]Trixie[/name] just makes me think of a stripper. (no offense to those that like it!)

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name]

No nickname would be [name]Bea[/name] for [name]Beatrice[/name] but I would prefer her to be called Beatice in full if we used it. I’m worried about [name]Penelope[/name] and its greatly growing popularity (we had it picked well before the K family used it). I wouldn’t want it to be the next overused name in years to come.

I thought [name]Beatrice[/name] was gaining popularity faster then [name]Penelope[/name]?

Sorry I’m no help they are both very nice names!

Maybe just make one super name [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name] [name]May[/name]

If i have to pick I’d say [name]Penelope[/name]- nn [name]Penny[/name] for kid is much cuter then [name]Beatrice[/name] and either name suits an adult.

I think they all age equally well, personally! [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] is my favorite of the two, though. [name]Violet[/name] is my favorite actual name from the four names, but since [name]Penelope[/name] is my second favorite, and that’s what she’d go by, that’s what got my vote. I’m guessing when you say you can’t split them that you can’t rearrange the combos? I was going to suggest [name]Violet[/name] [name]Penelope[/name] or even [name]Penelope[/name] [name]Violet[/name], but if you can’t switch things around, it’s a little futile. [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] is lovely.

I meant spilt as in I equally love them both for very different reasons. My husband likes [name]Beatrice[/name] greatly and I’m still unsure and I really don’t want to have name regret but she is due any day and it makes it very difficult.

Oh, I see! I totally wasn’t sure which you meant, haha. Maybe take both names to the hospital? Maybe she’ll strike you as more of a [name]Beatrice[/name] than a [name]Penelope[/name], or more of a [name]Poppy[/name]/[name]Lola[/name]/[name]Penny[/name]/whatever instead of a [name]Bea[/name]? [name]Both[/name] are very nice names, I just wasn’t trying to taint [name]Beatrice[/name]. I honestly quite hate it (probably very irrationally, because it could very easily be my style!), and it seems very frumpy and blah and unappealing to me. (Ironically, I love her sister names, [name]Beatrix[/name] and Beatriu!) [name]Bea[/name] is very sweet, though, and I adore [name]Violet[/name].

But as they are, [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] is definitely my favorite, it’s so sweet and [name]Penelope[/name] has so many wonderful nicknames!

They are both beautiful names! I prefer [name]Penelope[/name] slightly for its great nn’s [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Nellie[/name] and [name]Lola[/name]! I think [name]Beatrice[/name] nn [name]Bea[/name] is beautiful too though I prefer [name]Beatrix[/name] for its sass and spunk!

I think [name]Beatrice[/name] is stronger. [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is beautiful and romantic, but also serious - not overly whimsical.

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] has more of a high-ponytail bouncy teenager feeling to me. [name]Both[/name] names are great, but the combination is a little ruffly for me.

[name]Both[/name] are fine, but I prefer [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name]

[name]Penelope[/name] to me has always seemed a little childlike

What do you mean by ruffly? Like too frilly?

[name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] for me.

I like [name]Beatrice[/name], but I don’t love it the way I adore [name]Penelope[/name].

I dislike [name]Violet[/name], but I like combo [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name] more than [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name]. [name]Beatrice[/name] is cuter.

[name]Hi[/name] [name]Poppy[/name], sorry. Ruffly… Yes I think of [name]Beatrice[/name] as a strong, elegant name. [name]Violet[/name] is very feminine but it’s also got the strength of the buzzy-sounding V to give it heft. Does that make sense?
[name]Penelope[/name] and [name]May[/name] both call up springlike imagery for me. [name]Penelope[/name] makes me think of weaving and yearning, long fingers weaving tapestries, big doe-eyes gazing into the distance, long long hair… because of the story of [name]Penelope[/name]. It has an elaborately feminine sound to me. The IE sound on the end gives it a lot of bounciness to counter the imagery. Also makes me think of big ruffled poppies. [name]May[/name] is like the month of course, the floweriest month of all. It also tends to be used in old-fashioned Southern names, like [name]Ruby[/name]-[name]May[/name], [name]Billie[/name]-[name]May[/name], [name]Sadie[/name]-[name]May[/name], etc. Those names always sound very young and sugary to me. So [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] has an unchecked floweriness to my ears. Not that floweriness always needs to be “checked,” it’s just my preference.

I think [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name] would better suit an adult. While I like the name [name]Penelope[/name] I tend to think it sounds childish.

I prefer the combo [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name]. The whimscal and vintage [name]Violet[/name] balances the more serious, solid-citizen [name]Beatrice[/name] quite nicely. [name]Beatrice[/name] is part refined gentlewoman and part tough cookie. I also love its meaning of “bringer of happiness”. [name]Penelope[/name] [name]May[/name] sounds fine but it’s more frilly and feminine in vibe. It’s good to have two options to bring to the hospital with you.

Ohhhh, I’ve always loved [name]Beatrice[/name]. It is so strong, spunky and beautiful. I think it sounds great for both a child and adult. It gets my vote!!!

I prefer [name]Beatrice[/name]. [name]Beatrice[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is a gorgeous combination. I also like [name]Penelope[/name], but I am hearing them everywhere now.

[name]Both[/name] are nice, I slightly prefer [name]Beatrice[/name].

If you’re getting stuck between those two I’d consider [name]Priscilla[/name], which I consider directly even between [name]Penelope[/name] and [name]Beatrice[/name]. I know a lovely, smart girl named [name]Priscilla[/name] and it fits her very nicely.
