[name]Hi[/name] there,
Though we have not found out the the babies genders i have been trying to compile a list.
I have had my heart set on [name]Harper[/name] (g) since before i was even pregnant again and very early on in my current pregnancy. However since finding out i have double trouble on the way i haven’t been able to find a twin first name to go with [name]Harper[/name], boy or girl options.
So my question is should i let the name go?
I still like the name, just maybe not in a multiple set.
Oh, I think there are tons of great names that go with [name]Harper[/name]! Unless you want twin names that are super matchy, I don’t see that naming a twin would be much different from naming a sibling down the line, so I don’t think saving the name for a solo child later would help (or be necessary). I just think that having the whole (potential) sibset work together is nice. So how about these? Some are repeated between the boy and girl names because they’re unisex
GIRLS: I would aim for a more modern unisex option, though there are plenty of overtly feminine names that work well!

I don’t know what else is on your list, but I bet that things go together with [name]Harper[/name] better than you think!
Thanks for all the ideas.
I think the reason i can’t find a name to go with [name]Harper[/name] is because [name]Harper[/name] is kind of unique on my list. Its a unisex name but it is the only unisex girl name that i like. I tend to like other girly names with vowels A or E and hubby likes girls names with L’s or S’s. So we both gravitate towards feminine names apart from [name]Harper[/name].
All the suggestions match [name]Harper[/name] perfectly but there not quite for us.
I think if you love [name]Harper[/name] you’ll regret letting it go. There’s no rule that says twin names have to match in some magical way. If you love [name]Harper[/name], use it.
[name]Harper[/name] is girly and pretty to me. What names have you thought of and eliminated so far? Some of them might actually work or it could help berries find suggestions in your style.
Also my husband is a twin. Some twins are nothing alike in personality so you may have a spunky [name]Harper[/name] and a frillier sibling!! There’s names might totally match them.
If you love it, especially for an extended period of time, then definitely use it! Don’t miss that opportunity. (However this means you are destined to have two boys. JK). A couple thoughts:

I think among my favorite combinations for 2 girls are “Harper & Spencer” both have the strong ‘P’ and end in ‘er.’ I also like “Harper & Hadley” b/c, beside the obvious both beginning with ‘H’, they also flow well and are both kind of hip or preppy names that are real names (as opposed to made up) but aren’t overly used. For boy/girl combos I like “Harper and Hunter” or “Harper and Hayden” for same reasons as Harper &Hadley.
What do you think of these or others that have been suggested?
What names besides [name]Harper[/name] are you considering? I could give you suggestions based on those.
Anyway, I don’t think you should let a name go because it doesn’t “go” with a twin’s name. You’re naming two individuals, not a matched set. They don’t have to be perfect. Pick names you love.
Upon reading the posts above, I like the idea of [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Aurora[/name] (g) nn [name]Rory[/name]. [name]Both[/name] [name]Aurora[/name] and [name]Rory[/name] sound good with [name]Harper[/name] in my opinion. If the twin is a boy, you could use [name]Rory[/name] instead of having it be a nn.
Good luck!
I ran into this problem constantly when naming our twins! I’d find one name I loved and then blank out on the second and nothing felt right.
Good news is that I am pretty sure you will find your match for [name]Harper[/name]! We finally did with the lone twin “[name]Fiona[/name]” and then “[name]Lucille[/name]” two years later. They have their perfect sisters now after trying out what felt like every possible name [name]EVER[/name]! haha. I did go through periods where I’d abandon or feel like I should abandon [name]Fiona[/name] all together and start fresh, but kept coming back to it. With [name]Lucille[/name], it was a name we both fell in love with before I was expecting again and I didn’t want to bend on that one at all.
I understand how you feel because one of my favorite names is [name]Piper[/name] and it has been for over ten years now. I just starting thinking about what I would name [name]Piper[/name]'s siblings if I ever did have a [name]Piper[/name] because I’m not really fond of too many other unisex/surname names for girls.
I agree that it would be easier to give you suggestions if we knew some of your other name loves.

etc…
I believe that [name]Harper[/name] has some good possibilities to pair with it. Twin names don’t have to match they just need to sound good together like any sib set.
I love the name [name]Harper[/name]. It is beautiful, not too frilly but definitely feminine and not overused. If she has a twin sister, I think you should pick a similarly beautiful, no frills, unique and feminine name like [name]Wren[/name], [name]Sloane[/name], [name]Sable[/name], Iverly (nickname [name]Ivy[/name]), [name]Maple[/name], [name]Lark[/name], or [name]Waverly[/name] (and the like). Names like [name]Avery[/name], [name]Aubrey[/name], [name]Rory[/name], [name]Reese[/name] and [name]Emerson[/name], while similar in uniqueness and style to [name]Harper[/name], are frequently used for boys and can lose some of their feminine appeal alongside [name]Harper[/name]. [name]Aurora[/name] pairs beautifully with [name]Harper[/name], and I’m not sure why, as it is much frillier. Perhaps its uniqueness and atypical spelling pattern bend my little rule about avoiding frillier names.
In my opinion, boys with a sister named [name]Harper[/name] would be better off with a decidedly masculine name, but equally unique. Maybe something like [name]Zander[/name], [name]Noble[/name], [name]Raleigh[/name], [name]Winston[/name], [name]Larkin[/name], [name]Atlas[/name], or Lancer etc. suits your taste? And to answer your original question, you should keep the name [name]Harper[/name] no matter what. If you love it and don’t give your daughter the name, you are going to miss it. And although you will usually be mentioning your twins’ names together, there is no rule that they have to go together. [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Melissa[/name] can be a good pairing if those are the names you love, regardless of their difference in style.
I don’t think twin names necessarily need to match.
You don’t want them to absolutely clash—like [name]Harper[/name] and [name]Gertrude[/name], but there are a ton of girly names that could fit fine.
[name]Harper[/name] and [name]Adelaide[/name] could be fantastic.
Though if you want my honest opinion–I’m not super fond of [name]Harper[/name]. It has a pretty sound but it is quite trendy. My biggest worry using it, especially with a non "matching name is that in 30 years [name]Harper[/name] might feel a little jipped that she got the trendy 20teens name and her sister or brother got something more classic.
If it’s boy/girl twins I think you’ll be okay, because there’s far less chance of real rivalry between them in the name sense and trendy names are more acceptable for girls.
