I dunno, I'm falling in love with the name

[name_u]Finley[/name_u]! I want to add it so bad to my list of names but, I don’t want people to make fun of the name or him to get picked on because of his name. I think it’s an adorable nice fitting name for a boy. I actually got inspired by [name_m]Daily[/name_m] Bumps naming their second little boy, [name_u]Finley[/name_u]. I know a lot of people will say omg you’re black why did you pick a name like that?:(:expressionless: Any advice, not expecting just thinking of names for the future…

Unless you know anyone who is carries around a name etymology book to check that people’s name meanings match their characteristics, I don’t think you’ll have a problem. :stuck_out_tongue:

Fenley
[name_m]Fenton[/name_m]
[name_u]Finn[/name_u]
[name_m]Faron[/name_m]
[name_m]Finnegan[/name_m]
[name_m]Phineas[/name_m]

It’s a great name. There may be others with a similar vibe that have a meaning you connect with more. Then again, for some people meaning does not play a huge role in their name choices – it’s all about the sound or the feeling it gives them. As for it being Irish, I wouldn’t worry about that at all! I like names from all different origins/cultures. I think it’s perfectly acceptable to use a name you love from a different culture.

[name_u]Finley[/name_u] would be lovely on a black boy. I highly doubt that “a lot of people” know [name_u]Finley[/name_u]'s etymology.

I love [name_m]Daily[/name_m] Bumps so much, but I don’t really like [name_u]Finley[/name_u] too much, I prefer [name_u]Oliver[/name_u], but [name_u]Finley[/name_u] just sounds too feminine. I like [name_u]Finnegan[/name_u] or [name_m]Finnian[/name_m].
