I feel like I've strayed too far!

I think [name_f]Beulah[/name_f] and [name_f]Bridget[/name_f] are actually quite classic and could shift lists. [name_f]Merit[/name_f] is a bit more of a “word” type name, but a similar one to consider, especially if you have Norwegian ties, is “Marit”, which is quite popular and the name of the crown princess.

Here are some that simply fit your lovely old-fashioned aesthetic:

[name_f]Carol[/name_f]
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Joan[/name_f]
[name_f]Lucy[/name_f]
[name_f]Mabel[/name_f]
[name_f]Margaret[/name_f]
[name_f]Marjorie[/name_f]
[name_f]Matilda[/name_f]
[name_f]Maude[/name_f]
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
[name_f]Myrna[/name_f] (I seem to be drawn to “M” names :joy:)
[name_f]Regina[/name_f]
[name_f]Susan[/name_f]

Some of your names are simpler Celtic names (such as Oona). Here are a few others you might like (I’m trying to stick with names that would be classic in the U.S. [not sure if that’s where you live?] Lots of names are classics in the Celtic regions of the U.K. but are considered trendy in the U.S. — such as my first two names):

[name_f]Alba[/name_f] (the Gaelic/very old name for Scotland)
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Elsie[/name_f]
[name_f]Fiona[/name_f]
[name_f]Kirsty[/name_f]
[name_f]Mara[/name_f]
[name_f]Marion[/name_f]
[name_f]Orla[/name_f]
[name_f]Brigid[/name_f] (a simple form of [name_f]Bridget[/name_f], which I also think could be moved to your list of classic names)

For witchy names — super fun as my thesis topic deals with Medieval Scottish witches in the Western Isles. I spot some names on your list; here are a few other ideas that aren’t too fringy and seem to fit your naming style:

[name_f]Cassandra[/name_f]
[name_f]Edwina[/name_f]
[name_f]Esme[/name_f]
[name_f]Florence[/name_f]
[name_f]Isobel[/name_f] (great name, bad, sad backstory)
[name_f]Janet[/name_f]
[name_f]Helen[/name_f]
[name_f]Laverna[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
[name_f]Millicent[/name_f]
[name_f]Morgana[/name_f]
[name_f]Morgen[/name_f] (the only one of the 9 witches with a useable name)

I think it’s good that you have reverted to what you have always been drawn to in names. [name_m]Classic[/name_m] names are classics for a reason, and there are still sooo many to choose from. Your daughter will have a classic name that will weather the test of time, and you will have a child with a name that is comfortable for you.

@SaorseEilidhWren Thank you! I do like [name_f]Carol[/name_f], [name_f]Mabel[/name_f], [name_f]Margaret[/name_f], [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], [name_f]Maude[/name_f], and [name_f]Millicent[/name_f]! I do live in the US! [name_f]Alba[/name_f], [name_f]Cordelia[/name_f] (the name of a four year old I babysit!), [name_f]Elsie[/name_f], [name_f]Fiona[/name_f], [name_f]Orla[/name_f], [name_f]Brigid[/name_f], [name_f]Edwina[/name_f], and [name_f]Florence[/name_f].

I think Beulah, Bird, Bridget, Garland, Murphy, Pepper, Quimby, and Royce feel like a mix of both styles!

I think these combos from both lists sound nice:

Beatrice Winsome
Evelyn Concordia
Rosalie Favor
Oona Benedicte
Amelia Pepper
Philomena Hero

edit: just saw that this is from months ago! Whoops😂
