I hardly ever hear this name mentioned. What are your thoughts?

I have a son [name]Leo[/name] and today I heard a baby boy named [name]Edison[/name]. I thought it was so handsome! I looked it up on nameberry and was surprised it wasn’t even in the top 500 names. What do you guys think about the name [name]Edison[/name]? [name]How[/name] does it sound next to [name]Leo[/name]? Does it sound trendy because of the “ends in en” sound?

I might use a combo like [name]Edison[/name] [name]Philip[/name].

Let me know what you think!

I like [name]Edison[/name] and think it makes a good set with [name]Leo[/name]. My problem with it is the nn’s. [name]Ed[/name]? [name]Eddie[/name]? I don’t care much for those and definitely see it getting shortened to one of these.

I like it in theory, but it’s just too connected to [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name] for me. It would be like naming a son Tesla. Also, I dislike the nicknames [name]Ed[/name] and [name]Eddie[/name].

I like [name]Edison[/name] and think it goes really well with [name]Leo[/name]. I definitely don’t see it as trendy! It is closely connected with [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name], but I don’t see anything wrong with that. I also know an [name]Edson[/name], and thought it was cute… And it doesn’t have a connection if it bothers you. Also, [name]Edison[/name] [name]Philip[/name] sounds very handsome to me! ([name]Edson[/name], on the other hand might need a 1 or 3 syllable middle name…)

This is what I was thinking as well.

I really dislike [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name], he was a bit of a bastard. Not a fan.

[name]Ned[/name] seems like a possibility as a nickname, which I do like, but I’d use [name]Edmund[/name] instead.

I think it’s okay…it does draw an immediate connection to [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name], but that is by no means a negative thing… I think the -son ending might be confused with a name like [name]Allison[/name] though… I used to babysit a little [name]Edison[/name], but he always went by [name]Eddie[/name] (I really don’t care for the nn’s [name]Ed[/name] and [name]Eddie[/name] either).

I think it does sound pretty decent next to [name]Leo[/name], and [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Eddie[/name] (should he be called that) also sound okay. [name]Edison[/name] [name]Philip[/name] is a great combo:)

I think it’s great! I’m not really a fan of surname names, but I think this is a good one. Yes, it’s very much tied to [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name], but I still think it works. Nicknames [name]Ed[/name] and [name]Eddie[/name] make it more relevant.

Haha, opposite reaction – now you have me liking the name Tesla! LOL. I really like [name]Edison[/name], though. [name]Ed[/name]/[name]Eddie[/name] nn’s aren’t terrible but they aren’t my favorite.

I think [name]Edison[/name] [name]Philip[/name] is a handsome name and goes well with [name]Leo[/name].

[name]Edison[/name] works well with [name]Leo[/name]. However, someone suggested [name]Ned[/name] as a nn and I love the sibset [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Ned[/name].

I like [name]Edison[/name]! I think [name]Edison[/name] [name]Philip[/name] is lovely, and [name]Leo[/name] and [name]Edison[/name] work quite well together. I like the namesake of [name]Thomas[/name] [name]Edison[/name]. [name]Even[/name] though I’ve heard he was an awful, surly person to be around, he still accomplished a lot and is a great inspiration for determination and getting what you’re going after.

I like [name]Edison[/name], but I am not an [name]Eddie[/name] fan. It is always a possibility.

[name]Edison[/name] is great. You could call him “[name]Sonny[/name]”.

I think [name]Edison[/name] is a solid name choice, but for me, as is true with most ‘…son’ names, because of the meaning (son of [name]Edward[/name]), I would only consider using it if the baby’s father, grandfather, great grandfather… was named [name]Edward[/name]. To me the ‘son’ names always seem so specifically like ‘son of’ names. But maybe that’s just me, since name meaning is very important to me. Aside from that, [name]Edison[/name] is a nice name. I do like [name]Edmund[/name], [name]Edgar[/name], [name]Edward[/name] a bit more though.
