I hate the term 'sibset'! But do these match?

I just found out I’m pregnant this week! I’m about five weeks along and already my head has been going crazy with baby names! But I’ve always been a name nerd so, a day in the life of, amirite?

I have always thought it was a little bit ridiculous how much thought Berries put into “matching” their children’s names to each other. “Sibsets” are just ridiculous. (But let me take a step back and pull my foot out of my mouth and say that when the sibset effort is made, the result is usually gorgeous. Berries sure do know how to make a sibset. Anyway, moving on…) I’m not going to go to the extremes of stressing about if the names [name]David[/name] and [name]Joshua[/name] match perfectly (just two random names). But I [name]DO[/name] know a family with two kids names [name]Brandon[/name] and Morningstar. No joke. [name]Even[/name] I know that they don’t match well. I want to find the middle-ground.

So now that you sort of get the gist of my personal naming style (I hope!), here’s my problem. My two favorite names right now are [name]Saoirse[/name] (pn. Sur-sha. Rhymes with inertia.) and [name]Milo[/name].

If I were to have a girl I will absolutely use [name]Saoirse[/name] for a little girl. I’ve grown up very Irish and have some strong Irish roots in my family. I’m pale as paper, strawberry blond and have freckles out the wahoo. My last name is even one of those obviously Irish O’ names. Anyway, [name]Saoirse[/name] fits. And [name]Saoirse[/name] will undoubtedly fit my little girl if I have one. I love it.

And if I were to have a boy (even if I had a girl first and a boy years later, I’m pretty sure I’ll still love it), [name]Milo[/name] will be his name. It’s short, spunky, a little trendy for my usual taste but I love it enough to get over that.

So if I had two kids named [name]Milo[/name] and [name]Saoirse[/name], would people look at me weird? Am I unwittingly making my future kids go through what [name]Brandon[/name] and Morningstar go through? Give me your honest opinions!

Thanks!

Looking forward to either a little [name]Saoirse[/name] [name]Alice[/name] or a [name]Milo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name]!

I’m one of those Berries who like sibsets that match, but it can go over the top. Perfectly nice names going out the door because they don’t fit a specific style! Anyway…

I love your combos, [name]Saoirse[/name] [name]Alice[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] [name]Alexander[/name] are great! They are a tad off, but they sound nice together. My only issue with [name]Saoirse[/name] is that people in the US won’t get the pronunciation.

[name]Saoirse[/name] and [name]Milo[/name] are nothing like [name]Brandon[/name] and Morningstar. They’re great!
[name]Hope[/name] that helps, and congratulations!

As an overarching theme it seems that people are more “adventurous” with their girls names. I would say with a name like [name]Saoirse[/name] not breaking the top 1000, as long as you don’t dip into the top 100 for boys name, I think the names will gel quite nicely.

Honestly, no non-berries will notice if your names don’t match perfectly. They’ll work great together. I know a [name]Jack[/name] and [name]Saoirse[/name] (pr. SEER-sha), we always joke because [name]Saoirse[/name] is the older one that, after hearing people pronounce her name wrong all the time, the parents just chose the easiest name to pronounce that they could!
