Thank you all for your ideas for our b/b twins expected this summer . I will give a quick recap my husbad is a musician and wants rough boy names which isnt my style but i agreed as long as i loved the name…our fathers have rhyming names which i find amazing for middles for the twins (patrick and fredrick)
Heres my problem ive fallen in love with maverick i think the nickname mav is amazing and although not my style i can see myself having a son named maverick and loving it. But it rhymes with the middles! My husband says who cares its just a middle and we Probably wont use the middle name on a daily basis…im on the fence.
What do you think? Any imput or suggestions will be fantastic!
thank you
Oh! If it matters the front runners right now are oakley jagger and jaxon for twin number 2
Its not a name i could imagine myself using but like you im finding myself really liking it! In fact as i write this im liking it more and more!
What if you were to use all the names you like ans have 2 middles for each baby. That way you’d break the sound up
For example
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m] [name_m]Jagger[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]
[name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] [name_m]Fredrick[/name_m]
I love the matching middle names! I agree with @3furbabies suggestion of using two middle names to break up the similar sounds. That way you get to use all of the names that you love. [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] is my favorite of your choices for baby #2.
Out of the two honour names I would use [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] as it sounds best. I know the sound isn’t perfect, not terrible either, but honouring a grandpa trumps sound. You don’t really say both names together often anyway. I say go for it!
I actually think it works. I like [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m].
I know exactly how you feel, I’m not having kids yet but if I ever have a boy one of the middles will be [name_m]Anderson[/name_m]. It doesn’t quite rhyme but I love the name [name_m]Leander[/name_m], And [name_m]Leander[/name_m] [name_m]Anderson[/name_m] is just a no! Oh well. Hopefully by the time I have kids it won’t be an issue.
Good luck! I think [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] is cute. [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] isn’t my cup of tea, but I definitely love [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]!!
I don’t think it’s a big deal either. I think [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] sounds better than [name_m]Patrick[/name_m], but I agree with your husband.
BTW - I love that name [name_m]Maverick[/name_m]! As well as [name_m]Jagger[/name_m], [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] and [name_u]Oakley[/name_u]. With [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] I really like [name_m]Jagger[/name_m] or [name_u]Oakley[/name_u].
Honestly, the only names on your list that I like are [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and [name_m]Frederick[/name_m]. I really, really dislike [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m](that spelling makes me cringe) and [name_m]Jagger[/name_m]. And [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] always brings to mind [name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_u]Palin[/name_u]. Here are a few edgy boys names:
Sorry but I don’t really like [name_m]Maverick[/name_m], but if you are going to use it I think [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] works fine
[name_u]Love[/name_u] [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] and [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] btw
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m] is not my style, but if you and your husband love it then I think that’s pretty much all that matters and [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] sounds fine. I agree with your husband’s view on that.
Out of your choices, I think [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] “Mav” and [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] “[name_m]Jax[/name_m]” are a cute combination. [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] is also NMS, but I think the nickname [name_m]Jax[/name_m] is cute.
I don’t like [name_m]Jagger[/name_m] and [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] is okay, but I don’t like it with [name_m]Maverick[/name_m].
In case you’re looking for other options, pulling from boyandgirl’s list, I think [name_m]Axel[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and [name_u]Jace[/name_u] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] or [name_m]Ace[/name_m] [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] and [name_m]Dax[/name_m] [name_m]Frederick[/name_m] would be edgy and cool combinations for twins.

I agree that adding a 2nd middle name may be your best option if you really love the short list of names you’re working with (plus you get a few extra picks!). I think [name_m]Maverick[/name_m] is great and it sounds just fine with [name_m]Patrick[/name_m]. In addition, I prefer the J names to [name_u]Oakley[/name_u] and think they would also pair fine with [name_m]Frederick[/name_m].
That all being said, if you aren’t set on using the actual names of both fathers, you could always go with similar meanings. For example, Federick mean “Peaceful ruler” so you could look to names that mean peace – [name_u]Paxton[/name_u] ([name_u]Pax[/name_u]) perhaps? If you look at names for the “ruler” part, [name_m]Henry[/name_m] comes up along with [name_m]Adonis[/name_m], [name_m]Alrik[/name_m]/[name_m]Alaric[/name_m], Kaan, Phallen(Phallon, [name_f]Falon[/name_f]…-- descendent of the leader/ruler), etc. [name_m]Patrick[/name_m] means “nobleman” and [name_m]Ansel[/name_m] could be an option there. Anyway, I think you get the idea.
[name_m]Maverick[/name_m], [name_m]Jagger[/name_m] and [name_m]Jaxon[/name_m] are all names that work well together as sib sets though and I love the pp’s suggestion of [name_m]Axel[/name_m] as well as [name_u]Jace[/name_u] (always had a soft spot for that one). Good luck!
