I have half a mind to....

Name my next daughter, Elphaba. I’ve considered it for years but have never really gotten anyones opinion on it. So Berries, what say you?

I am a Wicked fan. I’ve seen this musical 8 times. But NO.

I adore Wicked, but I’ve always associated Elphaba with “elephant” because of the spelling and pronunciation. I’d say no to that one. [name]Elsbeth[/name] or [name]Elspeth[/name] would be my suggestions.

I know it’s from Wicked, but it does remind me of alphabet and elephant. Too much teasing potential. Sorry, no.

I absolutely adore Wicked. I too once wanted to name my daughter Elphaba, but I don’t really feel so inclined anymore - she’s an incredible character and Elphie is a sweet nickname, but I feel that [name]Glinda[/name] and Nessarose would be prettier, more accessible picks.

I agree with this.

I say no.
It’s not a good naming choice.

 I love Wicked and everything from that author, but I don’t particularly like Elphaba as a name. I think Nessarose would be a gorgeous name though. Also, Galinda is pretty (Galinda renamed herself as [name]Glinda[/name] later in the book, but I prefer Galinda actually), [name]Melena[/name], Sarima, and [name]Milla[/name] are also named from the Wicked series.

I guess that’s hormones for you! I’m just so frustrated that we can’t decide on anything! I told my husband if we can’t decide and it’s d-day or she’s born green that’s what I’m naming her!

Alphabet/Elephant/Wicked. It’s not an attractive sounding name. [name]Love[/name] the books and musical though.

While I [name]LOVE[/name] the name Elphaba, I think a child with the name could be teased because of its “unusualness,” and there is too much connection with Wicked for it to leave the realm of fiction. However, other than those two things, I love this name.
