[name]Daphne[/name]! She is the sweetest little baby in town - and she’s definitely changed my opinion of the name [name]Daphne[/name] for the better.
Have you ever met anyone that’s changed your opinion of a name (for better or for worse)?

Aw, how sweet. Meeting a cute baby can definitely warm you up to a name. I think that for about every sweet kid I meet, I fall in love with their name for at least a second.
I agree with [name]Meghan[/name]. Kids who wear their names well can often make me reconsider a name that I once disliked. I used to teach preschool in college and had a student named [name]Bebe[/name] (a name that, based on my “naming style,” I wouldn’t normally like). To this day, I love the name [name]Bebe[/name] because it always makes me think of my sweet student who was rainbows and sunshine all day long.
I met a 3 y.o. boy named [name]Arthur[/name] about a year ago. He was so sweet and just bursting with character. I had never really considered [name]Arthur[/name] to be a viable name; it felt very dated to me, but this little boy brought some fresh air to the name. I’m still not sure that [name]Arthur[/name] would make it to my personal favorites list, but now I definitely like it.
[name]Love[/name] the name [name]Daphne[/name]! This kinda happened with [name]Violet[/name]. My cousin named her daughter this and I thought it was totally out there and I didn’t like it at first. Now it’s grown on me! Also [name]Delilah[/name]. I hated it because of that song. Someone I know named his daughter this and I actually kinda like it now!
I used to love [name]Daphne[/name]! It’s still officially on my top 10, but I’ve sort of fallen out of love with it. I would love to meet a little [name]Daphne[/name] to make me love it again!
I do know exactly what you mean, though–I met the sweetest little girls named [name]Anna[/name]-[name]Rose[/name] and [name]Anneliese[/name] this past summer, they were so sweet and charming and they made me love the two names!
[name]Eunice[/name]! She was a spunky, stylish kindergartener that I LOVED!!!
[name]Sandra[/name]. In my mind, [name]Sandra[/name] was a middle-aged name, until I met four-year-old [name]Sandra[/name], who never goes by [name]Sandy[/name], just [name]Sandra[/name]. I wouldn’t name my child that, but it did make me see the name differently.
I always hated [name]Bentley[/name], until I met the most awesome little 2-year-old boy with that name - I still would never consider the name, just not my style, but I don’t hate it anymore.
I met a little boy named [name]Damian[/name] this year, and it completely won be over to the name. He is so sweet and funny, now I think his name is adorable, too.
[name]Spencer[/name]. For a girl. I know. But she was just so, so lovely. Preppy parents, preppy name, and all that jazz.
To be fair, [name]Spencer[/name] Hastings from Pretty [name]Little[/name] Liars had already warmed me up to the name.
I know two female Spencers in their mid-twenties - went to high school with them. Extremely weird coincidence that there were only 68 girls named [name]Spencer[/name] born that year, and 2 of them were in my relatively small hometown.
I love the name [name]Daphne[/name]! I met a beautiful girl named [name]Ava[/name] and it made me love it!
I love [name]Kate[/name] with a K, due to meeting several beautiful [name]Kate[/name]'s. On the flip side, I hate [name]Cate[/name] with a C based on a girl I went to school with.
I love [name]Daphne[/name]! It was the name of my most favorite doll when I was growing up. If my husband agreed (he doesn’t), it would be on my list for a girl.
I used to love the name [name]Mariah[/name]. In my senior year of high school, I met a girl named [name]Mariah[/name] that made my life impossible and from then on I hated that name.
[name]Amanda[/name]- I would use this name on a future daughter if it weren’t so dated.
[name]Victoria[/name]- [name]Even[/name] though I would never use the name on a future daughter, it no longer registers in my mind as being a “bad name” sine I met a really nice person by this name.
I just posted this in another thread, but I recently met a little boy named [name_m]Django[/name_m], which I thought was super cool. He was probably around 6 or 7, with blonde hair and blue eyes. I would never use the name myself, but it was interesting to meet a real person with the name.
I also recently met a man named [name_m]Holden[/name_m], which up until then was a name I had only seen on Nameberry. He was probably early 20’s, very good looking with brown/blonde hair and brown(?) eyes. He definitely suited his name.
And a little while ago I heard a mom calling to her daughter [name_f]Imogen[/name_f] in the store. Another Nameberry fave that was neat to see on a real person. She was maybe around 7 or so, with messy, curly brown hair. She also had a brother whose name I didn’t catch.
[name_f]Coco[/name_f]. I met the most sophisticated little dark-eyed toddler with this name and fell in love.
I used to like very much the name [name_f]Frieda[/name_f] (short form of [name_f]Frederica[/name_f], pronounced [name_u]FREE[/name_u]-dah). It is short, ladylike, elegant and has a perfect meaning (der Friede = peace in [name_m]German[/name_m], as a general term, der Frieden is the opposite of war).
However, a girl named [name_f]Friederike[/name_f] and nicknamed [name_f]Frieda[/name_f] has harmed my daughter many times, so I started to HATE this name.
I work in elementary schools so my opinion of names changes a lot. One name that I loved after meeting the sweetest 3 year old with the name was [name_f]Magali[/name_f]. Some names that I had to take off my list after meeting the kids are: [name_f]Leilani[/name_f], [name_f]Cassandra[/name_f], and [name_m]Julian[/name_m].
