I just keep thinking to myself that [name]Rose[/name] is such a nice, clean, simple, accessible name. Also, I think [name]Rosie[/name] is downright adorable for a little girl. We’d previously discounted it because it’s felt too ordinary–no zing to it–but I keep coming back to and thinking how sweet and versatile it is. Thoughts? Is it a classic enough staple to hold its own in the rising popularity wave?
What middle would you suggest? I kinda feel like we need something with more syllables since our last name is also a one-syllable wonder… The overall flow could end up sounding sound too clipped otherwise.
I personally love the name [name]Rose[/name] although I have never met anyone with [name]Rose[/name] as their first name. [name]Rosie[/name] is also adorable for a little girl, I don’t think you should discount it because it’s ‘too ordinary’ as both are lovely names.
All the Roses I know are cheerful, beautiful, out going women. And flower itself [name]Ida[/name] symbol of love, beauty, friendship, and peace.
I think it’s a classic name that has been relegated to second spot for years and you would possibly find, if you used it, your daughter would be the only [name]Rose[/name] in her class but its a name that is everyone recognizes.
I like [name]Rose[/name] as a firat name, as a middle name it is so overdone, but I agree that in the first spot it is sweet and simple. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Alexandra[/name], [name]Rose[/name], [name]Arianna[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Carolina[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Georgina[/name] / [name]Georgiana[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Mayella[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Guinevere[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Tabitha[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Wilhelmina[/name], [name]Rose[/name] [name]Isabella[/name]?
Me too. [name]Rose[/name] was my first love for a girl name and I’m still wrestling with whether I will use it first if we have a girl. I think the middle name should be at least two syllables (our last name is short too). As far as popularity, it’s not really that popular as a first name, so that should be fine.
I think [name]Rose[/name] is lovely as a first name, and it’s far less overdone in that spot than it is in the middle name spot. Some middle name suggestions:
I wouldn’t really consider [name]Rose[/name] popular as a first name. In fact it is used less commonly now then it was in the past. Personally, I love [name]Rose[/name] on its own. I have never met a [name]Rose[/name]. Definitely needs an long elegant middle name.
I love
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Eliana[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Helena[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Genevieve[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Caroline[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] [name]Catherine[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] is definitely not overdone as a first name. It’s been years since I’ve run in to one, and the last one I knew was in her 80s, passed away many years ago. Go for it! I liked the [name]Rose[/name] [name]Aurelia[/name] suggestion. Sounds pretty.
I absolutely [name]LOVE[/name] the name [name]Rose[/name] both as a middle and first name. [name]Rosie[/name] is an adorable nn and when she gets older, she can switch to [name]Rose[/name] if she wants.
[name]Love[/name] [name]Rose[/name], esp as a first name. And if you do put it first, I love a middle with three or more syllables and stress on the second. Lots of great suggestions here. I’ll just give one: [name]Rose[/name] [name]Amalia[/name].
So while I do love [name]Rose[/name]… ([name]Rose[/name] Niland from the [name]Golden[/name] Girls. [name]Rose[/name] [name]Dawson[/name] on Titanic…) I know a real life [name]Rose[/name] who just wasn’t all that. She was very over weight, very pale with lots and lots of freckles, thick kinky red hair, and a really bad attitude. She was MEAN. She had a lot of friends though… but i don’t really know why. o_o
