Does [name]Lola[/name] work as a nn for [name]Helena[/name] [name]Margot[/name]? I know it’d be a bit of a stretch, but I [name]LOVE[/name] [name]Lola[/name] and I [name]Love[/name] [name]Helena[/name], and if I could use both in one name it’d make me very happy So, what do you think? Too out in left field?
I don’t think it’s much of a stretch. I think it works.
I don’t think it works, sorry. I just don’t see how one can get [name]Lola[/name] from [name]Helena[/name].
I don’t see the connection, but a lot of nicknames don’t make a whole lot of sense. Personally I would just stick with [name]Helena[/name] as a full name. It’s lovely.
I don’t see how you can get [name]Lola[/name] from [name]Helena[/name], but I do sort of see how you could get it from [name]Helena[/name] [name]Margot[/name]. The L is in [name]Helena[/name] and the O sound is in [name]Margot[/name].
If I knew a little girl named [name]Helena[/name] [name]Margot[/name] nn [name]Lola[/name], I would just assume it was a pet name. Nicknames don’t always have to come from the name
I agree, I don’t see the connection from [name]Helena[/name] [name]Margot[/name], but I’d assume [name]Lola[/name] was just a nickname you gave her! If my mom can give Cruella from [name]Kerrie[/name], you can make that work!
I don’t get [name]Lola[/name] from [name]Helena[/name] (which I love, by the way), but I think you can give her whatever nickname you want. My parents gave me a nickname totally unrelated to my given name.
I agree with most of the others–the only connection between [name]Helena[/name] [name]Margot[/name] is the L in [name]Helena[/name] and the O in [name]Margot[/name], and it doesn’t really work as a name-based nn, but it could work as a special nickname from Mommy.
Well, here’s my question- would it be any different than [name]Chuck[/name] for [name]Charles[/name], [name]Fritz[/name] for [name]Frederic[/name] or even [name]Lola[/name] for [name]Penelope[/name]? To me, it’s about as much of a stretch as these others I’ve listed. I get that I can nickname my child whatever I want, but any nickname I choose would probably continue into school, etc.
