So… I love the name [name_u]Arlo[/name_u], but am not a huge fan of [name_u]Ari[/name_u]. My husband, of course, loves [name_u]Ari[/name_u], but not [name_u]Arlo[/name_u]… He says that he can’t imagine [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] on a grown man, that it’s more of a child’s name. I don’t absolutely hate [name_u]Ari[/name_u], but I feel that it is a bit nicknamey and, also, a cousin of mine has an [name_u]Ari[/name_u], so I have ruled it out for this reason.
Any ideas on a compromise? Are there any names similar to [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] and [name_u]Ari[/name_u] that you think we would both like?
Thanks for the suggestions, I will run them by him and see what he thinks. I am liking [name_m]Archer[/name_m], [name_m]Asher[/name_m], [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] and [name_m]Oren[/name_m]
I tried the [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] with [name_u]Ari[/name_u] for a nn argument, but he just said if we are going to call him [name_u]Ari[/name_u] then why not just name him that… he is impossible!
I actually think [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] ages well and [name_u]Ari[/name_u] fits a child better… I like the suggestion of using [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] as a full name and calling him [name_u]Ari[/name_u]. I think [name_u]Arlo[/name_u] would be just perfect with brother [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. [name_m]Archer[/name_m]/[name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_u]Arden[/name_u] and [name_m]Ezra[/name_m] are great suggestions, too.
I like [name_u]Ari[/name_u] better, but I don’t think it sounds very good with [name_m]Xavier[/name_m]. [name_m]Archer[/name_m] might be a compromise that would work. To use [name_u]Ari[/name_u] as a nn, you could consider [name_m]Aristotle[/name_m] (yes, like Onassis).
I really love the previous poster’s suggestion of [name_m]Enzo[/name_m].
You might also consider [name_m]Milo[/name_m], [name_m]Adonis[/name_m], [name_u]Alden[/name_u], [name_m]Aldo[/name_m], [name_m]Amos[/name_m], [name_m]Archie[/name_m], [name_m]Arthur[/name_m]/[name_m]Art[/name_m], [name_u]Elliot[/name_u]/[name_m]Eli[/name_m], [name_u]Ira[/name_u], [name_m]Ivan[/name_m], [name_m]Noam[/name_m], [name_m]Oscar[/name_m], [name_m]Otis[/name_m], [name_u]Owen[/name_u], [name_u]Remy[/name_u], and [name_m]Alec[/name_m].
