I thought it might be interesting to tell stories of names we loved … Until someone ruined them for us.
I loved [name]Poppy[/name] until my slightly dyslexic DH looked at my list and wanted to know why I wrote Poopy on the list.

Haha!! Oh my gosh! That is funny!!
I loved [name]Ria[/name], until I thought about your rear aka your behind or bottom. That’s gone now! I like [name]Tia[/name] though!
I loved [name]Hannah[/name], until I met the most rude little girl with this name.
I did like [name]Silas[/name], but know a boy named [name]Cyrus[/name]-they are way too similar.
And my all time favourite name was [name]Reuben[/name]… However my brother used it in a rude term and ruined it for me
I’ve loved the nn [name]Jody[/name] for [name]Joseph[/name] since I was little. My bf is [name]Marine[/name] and Marines hate “[name]Jody[/name]”, he’s a character in a lot of their songs/chants. A [name]Jody[/name] is the civilian that the [name]Marine[/name]'s girl cheats with when the he’s away
hahah thats too funny!! I had liked [name]Tucker[/name] at one point but my husband replaced the T with and F or and S and completely ruined the name lol
I also had like [name]Ellie[/name] and he informed me she would be called smelly [name]Ellie[/name]…where do they come up with this stuff lol
I really liked [name]Aviva[/name] until I told my husband about it and proceeded to belt out “A VIIIIIIVAAAA LAS [name]VEGAS[/name]!!!”
done and done.
Absolutely loved the name [name]Naomi[/name] until my husband looked at it and said “No way… that’s ‘I moan’ backwards!”
(I still love the name though… just probably won’t use it )
Oh no! I love [name]Aviva[/name]! I never thought of that
Oh no! That stinks. I absolutely loved [name]Willow[/name] until my coworkers brought up some movie called [name]Willow[/name] that I had never heard of. It ruined the name for me because all they do is make fun of it!
I love that movie . . . But it kinda ruined [name]Willow[/name] for me too. [name]Just[/name] because instead of a cute lovely girl, [name]Willow[/name] is the short middle aged hobbit like male character.
I really liked [name]Astrid[/name] until I heard someone call it Ass Turd.
[name]Rosalie[/name] and [name]Willoughby[/name], until I read [name]Agnes[/name] [name]Grey[/name] and Sense and Sensibility and encountered awful characters with these names. And [name]Emilia[/name] and [name]Bianca[/name] after I read [name]Othello[/name]- even though they weren’t bad characters, it’s pretty loaded in a bad way.
I loved [name]Rhea[/name] until someone said it is the ending of Diarrhea.
I did like [name]Aislinn[/name] until I learned it was pronounced “ash-lynn” and not “eyes-lynn” like I thought.
I also like [name]Aurelia[/name] until I noticed it was too close to areola to be useable.
I loved [name]Pepper[/name] until I realised there is a cartoon about a pig named Peppa
I was majorly crushing on the name [name]Margaret[/name] until someone on nameberry said it made them think of Magrat from [name]Terry[/name] Pratchett’s books. I can’t look at it now without seeing Magrat. Totally killed it for me.
I also loved [name]Bronwen[/name], loved the way it rolled off the tongue, loved the way it looked, loved the mental image it gave me. Then I saw the meaning: fair breasted. We are ample bosomed women in my family and it just seems like setting a kid up for teasing. Losing that name option made me much sadder than losing [name]Margaret[/name].
I never loved the name [name]Sara[/name]/h. But I hate it now and could never use it. I do have to try and be a “big” girl about the name and not judge poor [name]Sara[/name]/h’s. LOL. I also can’t use pretty names that my family already used or super popular ones. I have a third cousin [name]Olivia[/name] and [name]Elijah[/name] and [name]Gabriel[/name]. I also would like [name]Sophia[/name] or [name]Emily[/name] IF they weren’t so popular but they are so they are out :/.
