I made a girl list!

[name]Hi[/name] everyone, I have finally made a consolidated girl list. I’ve posted various names here and there, and have scraps of paper around my house with different combos and I think its best to finally list them all to narrow it down.

My top 2 names are [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Greta[/name].
I’m thinking:
[name]Stella[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Stella[/name] [name]Gatsby[/name]
[name]Greta[/name] [name]Grace[/name]
[name]Greta[/name] [name]Gatsby[/name] (or open to mn name suggestion, I don’t mind alliteration.)

I really like [name]Vivienne[/name] and [name]Adrienne[/name], however I can’t really see using these for some reason. Maybe as a middle.

I love [name]Parisa[/name] and Sohela, but our last name is very ethnic and DH isn’t really too interested in using an ethnic first name as well. That being said I think [name]Padma[/name] would be a cute name too, but might not work on a non-[name]Indian[/name] child.

Other names on my list are:
[name]Gatsby[/name]
[name]Grace[/name]
[name]Gabrielle[/name]/[name]Gabriella[/name]- (which I probably shouldn’t use since my cousin with the same name as me just named her daughter this…)
[name]Naomi[/name] (but might be too close to my son [name]Noah[/name])
[name]Ophelia[/name]- DH hates
[name]Beatrice[/name]- DH hates
[name]Sophia[/name]- DH loves because he doesn’t care about popularity. I refuse to use it as a first, but it’s beautiful and would use it as a middle.
[name]Margaux[/name]
[name]Thalia[/name]
[name]Dalia[/name]
[name]Yael[/name]

So my list is all over the place. We are still TTC, so I’m not in a hurry. I want something interesting, not too common, and feminine. I love [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Greta[/name] because to me they seem pretty, somewhat ‘hip’ and not too trendy or strange sounding.

I am looking forward to any discussion or suggestions for the berry community. My family is so sick of talking about names with me!

[name]Stella[/name] - I love [name]Stella[/name] [name]Grace[/name]!

[name]Greta[/name] - seems a little old fashioned but not bad

[name]Gatsby[/name] - I have a hard time seeing this on a girl, seems better suited as a boys name to me

[name]Grace[/name] - I like it but better as an MN

[name]Gabrielle[/name]/[name]Gabriella[/name]- [name]Love[/name], but you are right it is probably too close

[name]Naomi[/name] - maybe to close but it would be a beautiful MN, maybe [name]Stella[/name] [name]Naomi[/name]?

[name]Ophelia[/name]- All I can see is “I feel ya” :frowning:

[name]Beatrice[/name]- I cannot stand it either, sorry :frowning:

[name]Sophia[/name]- I think it is lovely

[name]Margaux[/name] - NMS

[name]Thalia[/name] - sweet

[name]Dalia[/name] - I prefer this to [name]Thalia[/name]

[name]Yael[/name] - Its nice but I think it sounds better on boys to me

Best Wishes

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is adorable with [name]Noah[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]! I also like [name]Stella[/name] [name]Margaux[/name] and [name]Stella[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]/[name]Stella[/name] [name]Sophie[/name]. I love [name]Ophelia[/name] (and think that [name]Stella[/name] [name]Ophelia[/name] would be stunning), but if your husband hates it, I would drop it.

[name]Greta[/name] [name]Margaux[/name] would be really pretty, too.

[name]Stella[/name] [name]Grace[/name] is lovely. [name]Greta[/name] [name]Grace[/name] has an old-time movie feel to it, which also makes it lovely to me. And both go beautifully with [name]Noah[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]. I don’t think you need to look any further (sorry I know that’s no fun)!

Thanks for the suggestions so far!
@imogeneve - you’re right, I should probably keep it between [name]Stella[/name] and [name]Greta[/name] since those are the two I love the most.

Of your top two I prefer [name]Greta[/name], I like [name]Stella[/name] too but it has become very popular. [name]Naomi[/name] is my favorite girls name but it is close in sound to [name]Noah[/name] but you said you weren’t bothered by alliteration so they would make a good match. If they are too close than I think [name]Greta[/name] [name]Naomi[/name] is a good and uncommon match up.

I just had to add that I forgot about [name]Evangeline[/name]. I think it might make a good mn.

love the use of gatsby for a middle name…stella gatsby is nice…I’ve always loved Margeaux

no greta though

The name [name]Greta[/name] is really growing on me - it feels like a livelier and fresher name than [name]Stella[/name].

The only problem I have with your list is that [name]Greta[/name] [name]Gatsby[/name] is one letter switched from Great [name]Gatsby[/name]… which might be a little odd when people first encounter it? Perhaps you could break the two up? [name]Greta[/name] [name]Anne[/name] [name]Gatsby[/name], or go with [name]Greta[/name] [name]Grace[/name]. I’m a big fan of alliteration.

I like [name]Gretta[/name] [name]Sophia[/name]…

[name]How[/name] funny! I didn’t even realize how close it was to Great [name]Gatsby[/name]… I think if I go with [name]Greta[/name] I can’t use [name]Gatsby[/name] as a mn, it would just be too much. I like [name]Greta[/name] [name]Grace[/name], and I think GG could be a cute nickname!

What about [name]Chloe[/name]? DH has decide he loves it. I love [name]Chloe[/name] too, but its way up there in popularity in comparison with [name]Greta[/name] or [name]Stella[/name].

Of all the name you posted my favorite combo is [name]Stella[/name] [name]Vivienne[/name]. I think its gorgeous with [name]Noah[/name] [name]Sebastian[/name]. I think [name]Greta[/name] is absolutely adorable as well but none of the possible middles were doing a lot for me. Maybe [name]Greta[/name] [name]Evangeline[/name]?
