In looking for a middle name for a girl to honor OH ([name_m]Martin[/name_m]) I found [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] and almost immediately fell in love. It is the [name_m]French[/name_m] feminine form of Marcellinus but it ultimately goes back to [name_m]Mars[/name_m] which is where the name [name_m]Martin[/name_m] comes from. The hold up? OH loves the show Adventure Time. I haven’t mentioned it yet but I’m going to guess that he’ll automatically think of [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] the vampire queen and assume everyone else will as well. Is the connection immediate for most people?
I do not know anything about Adventure Time, actually never heard of it. I really like how [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] honors your OH (I just learned that OH means other half). It’s not just technology that us oldies can’t catch-up with.

I’m a teen and I know of Adventure Time, but I’ve never watched it or know anything about the characters. I love [name_f]Marceline[/name_f], I think it’s awesome. If you are concerned about the character connection, than you should definitely put it in the middle spot.

[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] - A nice shared long-E sound that’s not too close together. Not bad.
[name_f]Lilith[/name_f] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] - feels a bit choppy for some reason?
[name_f]Anya[/name_f] [name_f]Marceline[/name_f] - The ahn- and ahr- sounds are a bit close. It trips me up some.
I like a two-syllable, accent-on-the-first-syllable name with it, I think. And one that ends in a vowel sound seems to flow really well to me.

I’m glad that most people don’t have the connection to Adventure Time. OH owns the first season and will probably own the second soon. Having a 7 year old brother means that you watch a lot of cartoons.

I love Adventure time and have watched both seasons… no children so ummm no excuse…
I know of the character she is pretty minor- she features as a main charter in an episode maybe 4 times out of 24 episodes… so the connection didnt even click for me, it wasnt until you mentioned it i was like “oh yeah its the same name as the vampire chick, cool”
