[name_f]Aislinn[/name_f]: [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite of the bunch. I definitely prefer [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] or [name_f]Aisling[/name_f] to [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]. While [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] will have less pronunciation issues, the spelling takes away from the beauty of the name imo.
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u]: I’m on the fence about this one. I want to like it, but I’m not positive that I do.
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u] is my favorite. [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] gives me a bit of the same feel as Maebry gives me but with a bit of a modern edge. I see [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] with a spunky, feminine middle name.
Honestly, all “ash” names sound trendy to me. Not necessarily in a bad way, but trendy. [name_f]My[/name_f] favorite from your list is [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] (this spelling) and also [name_f]Aisling[/name_f]. I love its meaning, “dream”. [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] would be my second choice, it sounds spunky and sweet. [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] feels very masculine.
I don’t find any of the “ash” names particularly appealing but if I had to choose one it would be [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f]. The sound of the name may be “trendy” but the spelling certainly isn’t. Bonus points to you for keeping the original spelling intact.
I like the sound of [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] and [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] for boys, so my vote goes to [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] (pronounced [name_u]Ash[/name_u]-ling) or [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f].
Since [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] is one of my top boys names, I’ll be honest here - the thought of it on a girl doesn’t make very much sense to me, and now, it’s definitely more for girls than boys.
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u] is very, very close to [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] to me, so that mightn’t be best
[name_f]Aislinn[/name_f]/[name_f]Ashling[/name_f] are lovely, and [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] is sometimes ‘[name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f]’, I think it’s only [name_f]Aisling[/name_f] that has the ‘g’ sound (but I could be wrong).
[name_f]My[/name_f] least favorite is [name_u]Ashton[/name_u]. I actually think it sounds the trendiest of the three. [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] is cool, but unfortunately being mixed up with [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is inevitable. I think [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] is actually nice, because it maintains the Irish cultural aspect, where [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] seems more of a trendy variation. By the way, I adore the title of this thread - I love a good pun!
I love [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f] & it’s Irish heritage. [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] is really cute & spunky! [name_u]Love[/name_u] it! I don’t think it will get mixed up with [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] that much. It is unique but works well with the old English names that are being used. [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] is probably my pick
[name_f]Aisling[/name_f] (prn [name_u]Ash[/name_u]-ling or [name_u]Ash[/name_u]-leen) is my favourite. [name_f]Ashlyn[/name_f] doesn’t cut it for me, I guess it’s too much like [name_u]Ashton[/name_u].
[name_u]Ashby[/name_u] is second, I feel like it’s a bit more hardy than [name_f]Aisling[/name_f], where it is all flowy and definitely feminine [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] has a bit more spunk but it is very unisex to me, the only thing feminine about it would be the girl it was bestowed upon and I can just as easily see it fitting a boy well and then being masculine. It is also very close to [name_u]Ashley[/name_u].
[name_u]Ashton[/name_u] is all boy to me, and I really hate this name. Also the one kids I knew called [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] was a complete piece of work.
The only one I care for on a girl is [name_f]Aislinn[/name_f]. [name_u]Ashby[/name_u] and [name_u]Ashton[/name_u] are definitely boys names, [name_f]IMO[/name_f].
While pretty, the [name_u]Ash[/name_u] names feel very tired to me. Surprisingly, [name_u]Ashley[/name_u] is the only one that feels fresh to me. I have been seeing on new babies recently.
