Alright, I’m writting an erotica so I need a sexy yet romantic pen name to reflect this. I want a name that’s classy, yet different and mysterious sounding.
Names that I’ve pulled off of the top of my head are: [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_m]Crane[/name_m], V.L. Penbrook, and [name_f]Beatrix[/name_f] [name_f]Lorane[/name_f]. So if you could also give your opinion on those names, I would be very glad. I will also gladly take suggestions for other types of romantic styled pen names.
P.S. I also like the last name Loveless, but I am having a hard time finding a first name to pair it with. I like Lila (or Lilah) but I feel that’s too may L’s. Other ideas for this are: Lydia, Annabelle, Bella, Lisa, and Eliza.
Out of the ones you suggested, I think Vivienne Crane has the best flow to it. It’s easy to say, and it looks enough like a real name that people won’t question whether or not it’s a pen name. If you wanted to obscure the gender of the writer (Assuming you identify as female), initials work best. The V.L. Part of your second suggestion sounds interesting together, but Penbrook doesn’t really sound romantic, if that’s what you were going for with that one. It’s kind of plain, and an obvious play at a pen name.
On the contrary, I think the alliteration makes the name flow better, but I get what you mean about Lila Loveless being a bit of a mouthful. Lydia Loveless sounds pretty and modern, but Lydia has never struck me as particularly romantic. It just sounds more homey and down to earth to me.
Off of the top of my head, here are some romantic names that come to mind:
If I decide to use the last name Loveless, I would like the first name to have a L sound in there somewhere. [name_f]Lila[/name_f] was the first thing that came to mind, though it just had too many L’s in it. Then my mind went to [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] (which sounds good with Loveless) - though I agree that [name_f]Lydia[/name_f] isn’t particularly romantic sounding. Right now I’m loving [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] with the last name Loveless. [name_f]Eliza[/name_f] Loveless both sounds modern, romantic, and it’s not too terribly outlandish.
I also really like [name_f]Vivienne[/name_f] [name_m]Crane[/name_m] as well, and I love your suggestion of [name_f]Evanna[/name_f]. I don’t quite like [name_f]Livia[/name_f], as that’s just too over-shadowed by [name_f]Olivia[/name_f].
