I really like name Lisa

I really, really like name [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]. It’s very simple, gentle and feminine and easy to pronounce. What do you think of [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]?

I can definitely see the appeal in [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] but to me I find the name dated not ready for a revival as of yet. I prefer other [name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] variants such as [name_f]Elise[/name_f] which shares a similar ‘lise’ sound to [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] but just feels more current. [name_u]Or[/name_u] for vintage vibes [name_f]Elsie[/name_f].

[name_u]Lisa[/name_u] was quite a popular name when I was at school and possibly less popular now, but I don’t think that should stop you from using it! It’s a lovely name, very easy to recognise and spell, with sounds that are quite similar to other names that are trendy right now.

It might seem a little dated but I don’t think that’s very important - I myself have a name that was VERY popular about twenty years before I was born and then very unpopular and dated when I was born, but I always quite liked that everybody knew and recognised the name, but I hardly had to share it with anybody of my own age!

I find it a tad dated but it does have a sweet, simple, strong sound

It does feel a bit dated to me as well, but I do really like it! It’s bright and versatile and very sweet, and would be a great way to honor an [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f]!

[name_u]Lisa[/name_u] is very sweet. Simple, gentle, femi Perhaps a bit dated but not terrible. I agree it could be a nn for Elisabeth–I know an [name_f]Elisabeth[/name_f] who goes by [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] and it suits her well!

[name_f]My[/name_f] moms name. I’d love to see it have a come back. I think it’s sweet, feminine, warm, elegant and strong.

I can see the appeal, but it’s just not for me. As a teenager there was always at least one [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] in my class, I knew so many. Not that it’s necessarily a bad thing, [name_u]Lisa[/name_u] is just one of those names that I’ve seen so many times that it’s lost its appeal for me.

[name_u]Lisa[/name_u] is a very pretty name. If you love it, use it. It does not matter what others think. It has a lovely sound, is easy to pronounce and spell… what more could you want?

I like [name_u]Lisa[/name_u]. I understand where posters are coming from when they say it feels maybe slightly dated, but I very rarely come across Lisas of any age where I am (England) and it strikes me as a sweet, strong, simple, international name along the lines of [name_f]Lena[/name_f] or [name_f]Nina[/name_f]. Widely familiar but not common, and a name that doesn’t place any expectations on the bearer.
