I suggested Delia, he read Delilah,

We are trying to find the perfect name for our new daughter. She will be our fourth daughter and ninth child. We lean towards southern, classic names, that aren’t too popular, but not too unusual either. We like Biblical names as well. We don’t use nicknames.
Our current kids are [name_f]Olivia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f], [name_u]Vivian[/name_u] [name_f]Pearl[/name_f], and [name_f]Georgia[/name_f] [name_f]Mae[/name_f], and [name_m]John[/name_m] [name_u]Michael[/name_u], [name_m]Hamilton[/name_m] [name_m]Stuart[/name_m], [name_m]Abram[/name_m] [name_m]Samuel[/name_m], [name_m]Gideon[/name_m] [name_u]Everett[/name_u], and [name_m]Calvin[/name_m] [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]. Most have family names as middles.
I fell in love with [name_f]Delia[/name_f], and texted it to dh the other day. He responded favorably, which is unusual as he is very opinionated, lol. Upon discussion when he got home that night, I realized he was wanting [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], not [name_f]Delia[/name_f]. I agree that [name_f]Delilah[/name_f] is pretty in sound, but I don’t think I can get past the story in the Bible. He hates [name_f]Delia[/name_f]

The only current one he seems to like is [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f].
I’m liking [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u],or [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]. I’m not sure what he is thinking in middles yet.
I also love [name_f]Emmeline[/name_f], and [name_f]Felicity[/name_f], and [name_f]Susannah[/name_f], dh doesn’t seem to really like any. Sigh. This is so hard!

Thoughts on [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] and possible middles. Is [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] too common now? I only know one, and she’s 16. Does it “go” with my other kids?

[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_u]Ruby[/name_u] and [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] are pretty. I think [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] fits perfectly with your other kids. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is getting popular, especially when you consider the popularity of [name_f]Annabel[/name_f] and other variant spellings. I think it really depends on where you live though. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] is really popular in my state, but I’ve never met one.
Middle Names:
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Faye[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Ivy[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Iris[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Margot[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Verity[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Violet[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Daisy[/name_f]
[name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] [name_f]Maisie[/name_f]

I don’t care for [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f].

When I see [name_f]Delilah[/name_f], I immediately hear that radio intro: Deliiiiiiilah.
You know the host? The one with 13 children and sappy love songs?

It looks like you like popular vintage names for girls and historical/religious (Protestant) names for boys with a strong American/English connection. [name_f]Annabelle[/name_f] doesn’t seem to fit in that to me.

Maybe a name that meets in the middle of those two:

[name_f]Della[/name_f]
[name_f]Cordelia[/name_f]
[name_f]Cecilia[/name_f]
[name_f]Celia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lila[/name_f]
[name_f]Dalia[/name_f]
[name_f]Dahlia[/name_f]
[name_f]Lydia[/name_f]
