We were trying to come up with middle names for [name_m]Oliver[/name_m], and I threw out ‘[name_u]Frost[/name_u]’. DH came out with…
“No it sounds like ‘All Over [name_u]Frost[/name_u]’.”
Well now, all I hear is ‘All Over’! All Over [name_m]Thomas[/name_m]. All Over [name_u]Flynn[/name_u].
Ugh. I don’t know what to do! [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] was our top contender
What do you guys think? Also, names similar in style to [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] would be nice, or possible other ways to get the nickname [name_u]Ollie[/name_u]! Although I still love [name_u]Flynn[/name_u], my heart was really sold on [name_u]Jem[/name_u] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] as brothers!
[name_m]Don[/name_m]'t give up on [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] just yet - you may come around again after a few weeks.
A few other names you might be able to use nn [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] for:
[name_m]Solomon[/name_m] ([name_m]Sol[/name_m] or [name_u]Ollie[/name_u])
[name_m]Oslo[/name_m] ?
[name_m]Olson[/name_m]?
You will get over this I wobbled late in pregnancy over names, I was over thinking things and I think you are too.
[name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a really popular classic and I have never once thought of “all over”…
Aw, I hate it when that happens! I still think [name_m]Oliver[/name_m] is a great name, though. And I am in love with the [name_u]Jem[/name_u] and [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] combination. What about if you just used [name_u]Flynn[/name_u] [name_m]Oliver[/name_m]? You could still call him [name_u]Ollie[/name_u], but you avoid the “All-over” phrase that keeps going through your mind. I know that some people don’t like the going by the middle name option, but I honestly can’t imagine it would be any different than going by a full-time nickname.
The first thing that comes to mind is [name_m]Tolliver[/name_m] or [name_m]Solomon[/name_m] (Tolly, [name_m]Solly[/name_m], or [name_u]Ollie[/name_u].) I have heard of [name_u]Ollie[/name_u] as a nickname for [name_u]Alden[/name_u]/[name_m]Alan[/name_m]/[name_m]Alvin[/name_m] or other names that begin with “[name_m]Al[/name_m]” as well. This isn’t immediately obvious to me, but I don’t think it’s totally crazy, either.
