DH and I would like to use family names as middles and we’ve struggled a lot with [name_f]Linda[/name_f], after my [name_f]MIL[/name_f]. Anything ending in A or L are pretty much out although I did settle on [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] for some time because I just love [name_f]Clara[/name_f]. The other day I mentioned the name [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and DH LOVES it. I’ve always been a bit neutral, but it’s growing on me and I think [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] flows better. What do you berries think of it?
I think it’s very pretty!
The -ly of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] and the Li- of [name_f]Linda[/name_f] kind of clash when you say the name aloud. However, middle names aren’t used that often, and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] is very pretty. Have you thought of using a variant name to honor [name_f]Linda[/name_f]? For example, you could use [name_u]Linden[/name_u], [name_f]Rosalind[/name_f] or Adalind.
I actually prefer [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f], although its a little singsongy for my taste. Agree with PP that the L sound in [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] clash. What about just using [name_f]Lin[/name_f]/[name_u]Lynn[/name_u] instead of [name_f]Linda[/name_f]? I prefer the sound of [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Lin[/name_f]/[name_u]Lynn[/name_u] and it still honors [name_f]Linda[/name_f].
This being said, if you prefer [name_f]Emily[/name_f] to [name_f]Clara[/name_f], and [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is set, use either. Middle names are not used all that frequently.
Thank you for the suggestions but we really want to use [name_f]Linda[/name_f] as is. DH prefers [name_f]Emily[/name_f] so we might just add it to the list for now and see how we feel about it in a few days.
Either name would be fine. As pp’s have mentioned, we don’t often say all three names together anyway. The more important combo is the first name and last name and that they sound really nice together as that is who she’ll be known as.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is very pretty. It would be my pick.
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] sounds like the name [name_f]Clarinda[/name_f] so it doesn’t really work, to me.
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is cute. I prefer the name [name_f]Claire[/name_f] to [name_f]Clara[/name_f], but think that [name_f]Clarisse[/name_f]/[name_f]Clarice[/name_f] sounds best. [name_f]Clarice[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f].
I think that both [name_f]Clara[/name_f] and [name_f]Emily[/name_f] clash a little with [name_f]Linda[/name_f]. But, if you find a first name that you both love and a middle name with meaning, then how they sound together does not have to be a deal breaker as both names are rarely spoken together in day to day life.
Hmm, [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is not getting the love I thought it would. Back to the drawing board then!
I think [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] is pretty and flows better than [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f].
And a few suggestions:
[name_f]Penelope[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Audrey[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Madeline[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Abigail[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Sadie[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Elizabeth[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
I see you have [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] in your signature. I like [name_f]Caroline[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] also these :
[name_f]Grace[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Sarah[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Hannah[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Mary[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Katherine[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Emilia[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
- I like the sounds of [name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f] far more than [name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f].
Another thought ( sorry if you have thought through all of my suggestions, I am not here much… So I am not sure …)
Two middle names…
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Clara[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
[name_f]Emily[/name_f] [name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
I noticed [name_f]Jane[/name_f] also in your signature but this could work with lots of names, or a double barrel first
[name_f]Anna[/name_f]-[name_f]Jane[/name_f] [name_f]Linda[/name_f]
