Since I’m trying to find new names, refresh my list, all that jazz, I told myself I wouldn’t discount names because they were similar to old favorites, or really discount anything for any reason, but this is just getting outrageous.
It started with [name_f]Eva[/name_f] ([name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Madelief[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]), and then [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] ([name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Hope[/name_f]) and [name_f]Eve[/name_f] ([name_f]Eve[/name_f] Fiala [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f]) got added to the mix, and then [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] (MAYBE [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] [name_f]Elena[/name_f] [name_f]Grier[/name_f], but I’m still undecided as far as [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] goes), and now I’m loving a secondary [name_f]Eva[/name_f] combo ([name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f]–maybe [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] in full? [name_f]Sofia[/name_f]'s a family name). (I swear, if [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] somehow magically gets added to this list I’ll scream.)
I’m not even sure what I’m asking here–maybe help me narrow it down to at least three? Or honestly, I’d be happy if I could pick just one [name_f]Eva[/name_f] combo for now.
I feel like it might happen to a lot of us, but this whole falling-for-a-naming-theme-and-going-overboard thing is something I’ve had in spades (it’s happened with -son, -iana, and -ett names, in the past, too), and [name_f]Evie[/name_f] is just the latest one. If you had to pick one [name_f]Evie[/name_f] name (particularly between [name_f]Eva[/name_f], [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f], [name_f]Eve[/name_f], and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], since those are the ones I’m hung up on), which one would it be?
My favorite [name_f]Evie[/name_f] name is [name_f]Eve[/name_f], which happens to be the name of my youngest cousin. My second favorite is [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u], but I know that’s not one of your options. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] would come third. I like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f] rather than [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Madelief[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f]. I don’t know if you’d be interested in considering some new combos using the names from your existing combos but I think [name_f]Eve[/name_f]/[name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] [name_f]Grier[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] would be lovely.
Out of them all, I prefer [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. It is a biblical name, and it ages well. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] would be next. [name_f]Eva[/name_f] is (to me) a more modern [name_f]Eve[/name_f]. I’m not really a fan of [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] or [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f]. They both seem overly frilly to me. But [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] is also super pretty. But in my opinion [name_f]Eve[/name_f] is best. It connects your future child with your [name_m]Christian[/name_m] religion, it ages well, and you could call her [name_f]Evie[/name_f]. But I’d say [name_f]Evelina[/name_f] comes in at a close second!
[name_m]Just[/name_m] based on first names, I would say keep [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] and [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f] on the list. You can use [name_f]Eve[/name_f] and [name_f]Eva[/name_f] as nicknames for [name_f]Evangeline[/name_f] anyway, and though [name_f]Eve[/name_f] works as a nickname for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f], I don’t really think of it as part of the “[name_f]Eve[/name_f]” family and think they work okay as sibling names as long as you like other nicknames for [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]. (I do rather like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_f]Sofia[/name_f] [name_f]Celeste[/name_f], though…)
Yeah, [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u]'s nice, but not my cup of tea right now. I used to love it, but its shot of popularity has just gone to show me that it wasn’t a true favorite. Mixing and matching I might not be opposed to (although I do really love almost all the combos as they are), but it gets risky, because I want to keep at least one family tie to each name, and both of the combos you listed don’t hold family ties, really. I fell for [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] when looking for Scandinavian names to honor my newfound Scandinavian roots, but it doesn’t hold ties to one specific family member like Fiala, [name_f]Hope[/name_f], [name_f]Sofia[/name_f], [name_f]Elena[/name_f], and [name_f]Kate[/name_f] do. I do like [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] a LOT, but my ln is two syllables, too, and I think [name_f]Eva[/name_f] [name_u]Dagny[/name_u] [name_f]Charlotte[/name_f] “[name_m]Roberts[/name_m]” sounds quite boring and monotonous and plodding. Almost like listing names rather than a combo.

I know exactly how you feel with [name_f]Eve[/name_f] names, I love them all! I’m also rethinking my naming style and am in need of new names to love. Here are my top three [name_f]Eve[/name_f] names and lovely combos to go with them.
