Here are my thoughts.

Gabriel has always been a firm fave of mine since forever!
I find it a very handsome yet a soft boys name. I really wanted the name for at least one of my children because it’s a name I keep coming back too.
Gabriel appeared to Daniel in the Bible and my partner is called Daniel. So it’s quite apt?

Setbacks. I think the overall combo is very religious sounding. This doesn’t put me off per say as my other boys names have biblical names but is it too overboard on the biblical vibe? Would it be your first initial reaction to the name. ‘oh that’s biblical’ kinda thing? Because I don’t know if I feel hypocritical when I myself and partner are not especially religious.

Beckett
I absolutely love the literary vibe of this name. I think it’s got that classic feel about it and it’s unexpected which is what I like. I think it sounds handsome and really pairs well with the softer Elias. The name also means little beehive or little brook. We live next to a brook and we have bee keepers in the family so I feel we have a link to the name.

Setbacks
As it’s quite unexpected I think a lot of the reaction to the name will not be positive ( my family and partners family don’t exactly do anything ‘different’ I know that shouldn’t matter to me but it kinda does and I don’t want to feel like I’ve got to explain why we picked the name. I just want the name to be accepted positively…

So with the above in mind and taking into consideration the aesthetics of the name. Flow/look/vibe etc which one do you prefer?
Thanks

Honestly I love both! Chose [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] as I prefer it as a standalone name over [name_u]Beckett[/name_u], however I think both work perfectly in the combo

Both are lovely!

Elias [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is my favourite though - sleek and charming. It is quite biblical but i think both names are enough in use that I wouldn’t immediately assume that’s why they were chosen

Both names look good! I really love [name_u]Elias[/name_u] and [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] together, so I voted for this combo. It didn’t strike me as a very religious or biblical name since both names are common across different countries. It felt international

Both are handsome, you really can’t go wrong here! I voted for [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] just based on personal preference, I don’t think it’s overly religious

I’m not a religious person, but when I saw [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] it did make me think that it was too religious. I’m not sure if that even makes sense. Also [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] doesn’t really have anything that is super like different and cool IMO and I love names that have a little bit of spunk. [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] got my vote!

Elias [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] has a much better flow, but it does sound quite religious. I don’t think it sounds religious enough to be off-putting, however.

This is so difficult  I should mention our surname is Màckenzie if that is of any help.

First of all I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u]. It was on my list when I was pregnant but my husband preferred [name_u]Elliott[/name_u] so we went with that but it was a compromise on my part because I love [name_u]Elias[/name_u] nn [name_u]Eli[/name_u]. [name_u]Eli[/name_u] doesn’t super fit for [name_u]Elliott[/name_u]. So anyway sorry for the personal tangent there  but [name_u]Elias[/name_u] is so so handsome!!

This is hard because both sound great.

Elias [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] is dashing. I like names that give that studious vibe so this would probably get my vote. Its studious but versatile at the same time if that makes sense. I can picture [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] being a little genius, an athlete, a musician, a humanitarian, etc. I think versatility is so important when it comes to the final name choice!

However [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is soft and warm. Im not always a huge [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] fan but its really lovely here. If [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] is a long time favorite you have to follow your heart.

You really can’t go wrong either way! Beautiful choices!

I think [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] flows best together and also with your last name. I’m not religious and I don’t know what the biblical reference is for [name_u]Elias[/name_u] (although I was brought up in an evangelical, [name_u]Christian[/name_u] household - my parents obviously didn’t vibe with [name_u]Elias[/name_u])!

This is such a tough choice!
I want to say [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] because I know you’ve loved that name for a long time and it would be great to finally get to use it.

Beckett sounds really sweet with [name_u]Elias[/name_u] too though!
I love the contrasting sounds and the meaning.
Ugh!

I guess I’m going to pick [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u]. I have this name on my middle name list too because it’s one of my mom’s favorites.
I think if you start feeling more and more attached to [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] after you’re pregnant and/or find out it’s a boy then maybe that’s the name for this little one, but because you’ve loved [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] for so long it just seems more meaningful right now.

I like [name_u]Elias[/name_u] [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u], and it doesn’t strike me as overly religious. I work in a school and the names I think are overly religious are more like “Godswill” and “[name_m]King[/name_m] [name_m]David[/name_m]” (yes that was a singular first name). [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] has always been a favorite for me.

The only reason to choose [name_u]Beckett[/name_u], in my mind, is that both [name_u]Gabriel[/name_u] and [name_u]Elias[/name_u] are soft sounding names and the K in [name_u]Beckett[/name_u] may make a better transition to the hard K and Z in your last name.
