I recently posted a thread about being torn on the name [name]Calypso[/name]. Thank you all for your wonderful advice! I was ready to go with [name]Calypso[/name] until out of no where DH suggested [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name]! I instantly thought he was brilliant. It has that bohemian vibe that we love but [name]Kate[/name] calms it, making it actually seem sophisticated. My concern is that people might think it’s a little [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Richie[/name], but I’m using [name]Sparrow[/name] for a girl… So maybe we’re okay? He also suggested [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Juliet[/name].
Also, is it okay with her big sister’s name, [name]Eva[/name] [name]Natalia[/name] (EY-va)?
I love [name]Eva[/name]… don’t love [name]Sparrow[/name] for a first name, but do like it better than [name]Calypso[/name]. Sounds like you and your husband are on the same page-- that’s exciting. I really like his suggestions of [name]Kate[/name] and [name]Juliet[/name]. My style would be more [name]Kate[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name] or [name]Juliet[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]. Good luck!
Yeah, I love her Boho style. I also love her kids names - which is probably why I love these names! DH doesn’t even know who she is, so he chose these names because he liked them, not because of her!
Honestly, I prefer [name]Calypso[/name]. It might be a little “out there” but at least there’s the option of going by [name]Callie[/name], which is very down to earth. [name]Sparrow[/name], on the other hand, doesn’t have that option.
[name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is beautiful :). I wouldn’t worry too much what other people think because [name]Sparrow[/name] is an uncommon name. If everybody loved it they would use it themselves and [name]Sparrow[/name] would be more popular. I think if you are looking for an uncommon choice it is a great idea! I think an adorable little [name]Sparrow[/name] & [name]Eva[/name] skipping rope together and selling lemonade with a smile would change the minds of a lot of people about the name. It is uncommon without being unheard of. That’s my favorite kind of name. You are so lucky that you found one that you and your husband really connect on! I am having trouble finding a name that satisfies both my and my more conservative mate’s views… [name]How[/name] cool for little [name]Sparrow[/name] to know that both her parent’s love her whole name? Not every kid gets that. The opinions that will matter the most to her are you and your husband. I think [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is adorable. Good luck!
I would never guess that [name]Sparrow[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] were sisters; they’re so incredibly different style-wise. But if you and your husband love it, more power to you! Sibling names don’t have to match, of course - they’ll be living under the same roof for only so long. I do tend to read [name]Sparrow[/name] as masculine, but that’s just because of [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Richie[/name] and the character of [name]Jack[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name]. [name]Ro[/name] would be a good nickname.
I vastly prefer [name]Calypso[/name]. [name]Sparrow[/name] isn’t awful, but in the first name spot, it doesn’t have a particularly feminine sound, [name]IMO[/name]. [name]Wren[/name] sounds nicer, [name]IMO[/name].
Also, [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Sparrow[/name] sounds really weird together.
I love [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name]! And I’m going to tell my brother about you because he also likes the name [name]Sparrow[/name]. I prefer the middle [name]Kate[/name] instead of [name]Juliet[/name]. And I think [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Sparrow[/name] are fine, sibsets are overrated. Their not always going to be together, you should hear the mismatched names of me and my 7 siblings.
I personally think that [name]Kate[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name] would be better. It fits better with [name]Eva[/name] [name]Natalia[/name], but you can still have that boho vibe by using [name]Sparrow[/name] in the middle.
I think [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] sounds actually really cute! I didn’t think of [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Richie[/name] until you mentioned her.
I love [name]Eva[/name] [name]Natalia[/name]. [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is sweet as well. However, to me it doesn’t feel like they were named by the same parents. Not that they have to be matchy but well they are two very different styles. I’d suggest [name]Kate[/name] [name]Sparrow[/name] instead. [name]Eva[/name] and [name]Kate[/name] are an adorable sib-set.
[name]Just[/name] a thought since nobody has mentioned it yet. Anybody else see [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] and think about the book “[name]Catherine[/name] called [name]Birdie[/name]?”
[name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] does have a nice sound to it. Probably 'cause I like the name [name]Arrow[/name] on a girl. That’s great that you & hubby both like it! I would stick with [name]Kate[/name] though, not [name]Juliet[/name]. [name]IMO[/name].
Sorry I instantly thought of [name]Nicole[/name] [name]Richie[/name] because her daughter is [name]Harlow[/name] [name]Winter[/name] [name]Kate[/name] and her son is [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]James[/name] [name]Midnight[/name] it sounds very nice though and maybe most wouldn’t realize it combines her kids names?
edit:I realize you mentioned Nicole Richie in your original post but I wasn’t sure which of her children you were referring to or if you meant both
I think [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name] is cute, but at the same time, it just does not go with [name]Eva[/name], same with [name]Calypso[/name]. [name]Both[/name] styles are extremely different from [name]Eva[/name]. I would never guess they were sisters. [name]Eva[/name] [name]Natalia[/name] is so “normal” compared to [name]Sparrow[/name] [name]Kate[/name].
