I think we may have found a winner! The funny thing is that it’s in no way the European style I’ve been semi-searching for. The name is [name]River[/name]. Of course I’ve heard it before, and have passed over it many times in name books. I wasn’t looking for this name, but apparently it was looking for me. Out of nowhere one day I wrote [name]River[/name] down on a list, and I didn’t pay much attention to it. [name]Every[/name] time I would add a new name, my eyes kept catching on [name]River[/name]. I couldn’t get past it. The combination [name]River[/name] [name]David[/name] ([name]David[/name] after a loved one) kept calling to me until I fell in love. DH loves it, too! It’s the only name we agree on.
It is an ‘R’ name like DH’s name, and DH’s dad’s name. The imagery of a river is so beautiful; powerful, yet peaceful. I find it has just the perfect amount of uniqueness, as it’s not unheard of but still gives a “granola” vibe (I’ll admit that I’m as natural as could be without being a hippy). The only drawback is that a lot of people will associate it with [name]River[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name], but hopefully after they know my son they will associate it with him. Quite frankly, I’m 24 and I didn’t even know who [name]River[/name] [name]Phoenix[/name] was until recently - tragic story, but he had a beautiful name!
I’m aware that [name]River[/name] & [name]Eva[/name] aren’t the most perfectly matched sibset, but do you think they are awful together?
If our baby doesn’t look like [name]River[/name], the default alternative is [name]Anders[/name]. It does go wonderfully with [name]Eva[/name], but I only halfheartedly like it, and DH doesn’t like it much either. I’m leaving it at this, though. I’m done looking for names. I have peace with the name [name]River[/name]
I really like [name]River[/name] [name]David[/name] and don’t see why you think it doesn’t go well with [name]Eva[/name]. They are both nice names and think it’s a great idea to just step away now!
I’m a fan of [name]River[/name] [name]David[/name] for you! Randomly, the first thing I think of when I hear [name]River[/name] as a name is [name]Earl[/name] [name]Rivers[/name] from [name]Shakespeare[/name]'s [name]Richard[/name] III.
Congratulations, I’m so happy for you! I think the names go fine together and both have a v to tie them together. plus you both love it so what more could you ask for?
I really love the visual symmetry in [name]River[/name] [name]David[/name].
I also think [name]River[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] go well together and I’m glad you guys found a name you both love.
([name]Anders[/name] is a great “back-up” name.)
Congrats!
I think [name]Eva[/name] and [name]River[/name] are cute together. Plus, [name]River[/name] [name]David[/name] is super handsome. Sounds like a winner to me!
[name]River[/name] [name]David[/name] is great. I’m glad you found a name you both love. [name]Don[/name]'t worry too much about the flow with [name]Eva[/name]. It’s not that bad. Congrats on finding a name!
Great choice. [name]River[/name] and [name]Eva[/name] match up perfectly (having that ‘v’ in the middle for both of 'em makes them feel like a natural fit together-- they even have a similar rhythm/cadence when said out loud-- but are still distinctly different).
[name]River[/name] [name]David[/name] has a really nice flow to it as well, feels very well balanced.
I like your choice a lot, makes me want to consider [name]River[/name] myself.
