I know how difficult it is to throw out names which you ‘just like’, so I applaud you!
[name]Abilene[/name] - a brilliant, flowing sound, and an unusual, beautiful name.
[name]Althea[/name] - a little lisp-y for my taste.
[name]Amabel[/name] - this is very pretty, with a nice sound, however I do fear that it would constantly get mis-read as [name]Annabel[/name].
[name]Angelina[/name] - not my favourite angel name … I fear [name]Angie[/name]! [name]Angelica[/name] doesn’t solve that problem, but I prefer the overall sound, and [name]Evangelina[/name], [name]Seraphina[/name] and [name]Rafaella[/name] are all stunning alternatives.
[name]Astrid[/name] - I like many harsh-sounding names, too, but for some reason I just don’t like this one; ending on such a hard consonant feels a little off to me.
[name]Athena[/name] - nice, but doesn”t bowl me over.
[name]Aurelia[/name] - a pretty, melodic choice.
[name]Bette[/name] - this seems too short to be a first name, but would be easy to use in middle place, or an easy nn for [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Elizabetta[/name].
[name]Callista[/name] - nice, but I prefer [name]Calliope[/name].
[name]Calliope[/name] - this unusual choice has a wonderful, flowing sound. You may also like [name]Calanthe[/name] (my sister”s mn, which I am particularly partial to).
[name]Carmine[/name] - this is beautiful, but is actually the Italian male form of [name]Carmen[/name], which I know would bother me. [name]How[/name] about just [name]Carmen[/name]? It is equally lovely.
[name]Clara[/name] - simple yet beautiful, this reminds me of the little girl in The Nutcracker.
[name]Constance[/name] - a quirky vintage choice which deserves to be resurrected, and absolutely could be.
[name]Cordelia[/name] - a beautiful name, with the equally beautiful nn [name]Cora[/name].
[name]Dahlia[/name] - this is a very pretty, unusual floral choice, but for some reason it seems a little gothic to me.
[name]Danielle[/name]/[name]Daniela[/name] - I am afraid that this one seems dated to me.
[name]Eleonore[/name] - a nice name, but I feel that it should be [name]Eleanor[/name] ”
[name]Elke[/name] ([name]ELL[/name]-kah) - pronunciation issues may arise, but having to correct a few people isn”t disastrous, and many people hear a name before they see it written down. I love the sound of this one, and it is a brilliant, unusual alternative to the popular [name]Ellie[/name].
[name]Estella[/name]/[name]Estelle[/name] - I feel that I am in the minority with this one, but I just don”t like it ” Sorry!
[name]Eugenia[/name] - I am not very fond of the sound of this one; it”s all ”eww” and ”gee”.
[name]Florence[/name] - a very pretty, vintage choice. My little niece is a [name]Flora[/name] (which I have to admit that I prefer), named after her father”s aunt [name]Florence[/name]. There is the adorable nn [name]Flossy[/name] with this choice, and the spunkier option of [name]Flo[/name], too.
[name]Gabriella[/name] - popular, and that -brie sound is seeming very trendy at the moment. I much prefer the other feminised archangel name, [name]Rafaella[/name], although I am biased - one of my sons is named [name]Raphael[/name].
[name]Isadora[/name] - a brilliant alternative to [name]Isabella[/name] et al; a beautiful name, despite (or perhaps aided by) the tragic connotations.
[name]Jessamine[/name] - I just am not that fond of the sound of this one, possibly because it seems a frilly elaboration of the slightly dated [name]Jessica[/name] ” [name]How[/name] about [name]Tessa[/name], or even Contessa?
[name]Leonore[/name] - manages to simultaneously be a wonderful name, and remind me of fabric softener ([name]Lenor[/name])
[name]Lilah[/name] - pretty, but set to rise in popularity along with [name]Lily[/name] (which I actually prefer the sound of).
[name]Liliana[/name] (family name) - will rise in popularity along with [name]Lily[/name], but a beautiful choice.
[name]Louisa[/name] - a lovely, classic choice, although I must admit to preferring [name]Eloise[/name].
[name]Lydia[/name] - a wonderful vintage name.
[name]Meredith[/name] - I don”t think this is as stunning as some of your other choices.
[name]Miriam[/name] - I love the feminine, but not frilly, sound of this one.
[name]Noemie[/name] - one of my new favourites.
[name]Norah[/name] (family name) - absolutely beautiful, a great vintage choice. You may also like [name]Honora[/name] or [name]Annora[/name], nn [name]Nora[/name].
[name]Pearl[/name] - elegant yet simple, with a vintage feel. I adore it in first place, but it also makes a great middle name; one-syllable middle names work well with most first names.
[name]Penelope[/name] - elegant and beautiful, with so many lovely nn options - [name]Penny[/name], [name]Poppy[/name], [name]Nelly[/name] et cetera.
[name]Perdita[/name] - I agree that the sound of this one is just beautiful, but for me the meaning is too obvious (although that is most probably because I spent part of my childhood living in [name]France[/name], where perdre means to lose).
[name]Primrose[/name] - I think this is a feminine flower choice, without being too frilly or popular, and offers the great nn [name]Rosie[/name] (my daughter”s nn). I find it classy and elegant, but I am biased; this is my mother”s name!
[name]Rosemary[/name]/[name]Rosemarie[/name] - a lovely vintage name, but I don”t like it quite as much as I do [name]Primrose[/name]!
[name]Roslyn[/name] - both the spelling and the -linn ending seem very trendy to me. Other [name]Rose[/name] names which you may like are [name]Rosamund[/name], [name]Rosanna[/name], [name]Rosette[/name]/a and [name]Ambrosia[/name].
[name]Ruby[/name] nn [name]Rue[/name] - this sounds ridiculous, and is probably just a personal association, but I find [name]Ruby[/name] somewhat tacky. Less trivially, [name]Rue[/name] is definitely not my favourite nn - rue the day? You may like [name]Roe[/name]; it makes a particularly lovely nn for [name]Rowena[/name].
[name]Sadie[/name] - spunky, but I actually prefer plain old [name]Sarah[/name], and think it has more of a classic quality.
[name]Shiloh[/name] - beautiful, light name, but now tainted by the celebrity association.
[name]Sonnet[/name] - to be brutally honest, this seems too obviously word-y to me; I would think that parents with a child named [name]Sonnet[/name] are trying too hard to be creative. [name]How[/name] about using the name of a poet whom you admire?
[name]Sophia[/name] - utterly beautiful ([name]Sofia[/name] is one of my DD”s middles) but the popularity is overwhelming, and enough to put me off it in first place.
[name]Susannah[/name] - a nice choice, and while the full name does not particularly stand out to me, the nns [name]Susie[/name], [name]Sukie[/name] and [name]Anna[/name] are all wonderful and sweet, yet also fit for adults.
[name]Tara[/name] - I adore this traditional Irish name, which also means ”star” in Sanskrit. We are considering this for one of our twins” middle names.
In conclusion, I dislike or am on the fence about :

[name]Angelina[/name]
[name]Astrid[/name]
[name]Danielle[/name]/a
[name]Estella[/name]/e

[name]Roslyn[/name]

[name]Amabel[/name]
[name]Bette[/name] (a little blunt, but a great nn)
[name]Perdita[/name]
[name]Shiloh[/name] (”Oh, like [name]Brad[/name] and [name]Angelina[/name]”s child?”)
[name]Sophia[/name] (due to the popularity)
