We are considering using the name [name]David[/name] Colijn (co-[name]LANE[/name]) M____ for our first son. We would probably call him [name]Cole[/name] most of the time. Any suggestions of names to go with [name]Cole[/name] (full name Colijn)? I like names that aren’t used too often, but that maybe have a more common nn. (Like Colijn, nn [name]Cole[/name].
My hubby likes the name [name]Sara[/name]. Any suggestions of a longer version that we could use [name]Sara[/name] as a nn for? [name]Do[/name] you think [name]Cole[/name] and [name]Sara[/name] go together?
Any and all suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!! THANKS!
P.S. I love names with [name]Cora[/name] as a nn ([name]Corinna[/name]/[name]Coralie[/name]), but I kind of think [name]Cole[/name] and [name]Cora[/name] are too close. What do you think?
[name]Seraphina[/name] (nn [name]Sera[/name])
[name]Seraphine[/name]
[name]Samara[/name]
[name]Sarai[/name]
[name]Sariah[/name] (although I’m now realizing that it sounds like psoriasis)
[name]Serena[/name]
Names I can see with [name]David[/name] Colijn (nn [name]Cole[/name]) that hopefully meet your criteria:
I think [name]David[/name] Colijn is very handsome. [name]Sara[/name] would make a great nickname for [name]Seraphina[/name], which is gorgeous. I think [name]Cora[/name] and [name]Cole[/name] are too close, though I do love [name]Coralie[/name]. Here are some suggestions, with nicknames:

Of the names you suggested, I like:
[name]Serena[/name] (great way to get the [name]Sara[/name] nn!!! What do you think about [name]Sarina[/name] or [name]Sarena[/name]?)
[name]Sariah[/name]
[name]Samara[/name] (how is this pronounced?)
[name]Annelise[/name] (pronunciation? I [name]LOVE[/name] the nn [name]Annie[/name])
[name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Jessamine[/name]
[name]Susannah[/name] (I was just looking at this name today, but didn’t like [name]Susie[/name]/[name]Sue[/name]/Suze for nn - [name]Annie[/name] is perfect!!
[name]Beckett[/name] (this one is on our short list - love it!!!)
[name]Bennett[/name] (love the nn [name]Ben[/name])
[name]Reuben[/name] (ditto - but don’t think hubby would go for this one)
[name]Griffin[/name] (this one is also on our short list - one of my very favorites!!)
[name]Edward[/name] (family name - [name]Ward[/name] is our second choice for a middle name)
[name]Isaac[/name]
Great list!! THANKS!
Irisrose,
Thanks for the suggestions! I like
[name]Aurelia[/name]
[name]Camilla[/name] (how do you pronounce this)
[name]Marina[/name] (cute, but our last name starts with Ma___)
[name]Butterfly[/name],
[name]Cole[/name] is a nn for Colijn (co-[name]LANE[/name]), not for [name]David[/name]. We’re considering [name]David[/name] Colijn M___ nn [name]Cole[/name]. Sorry for the confusion.
[name]Isaac[/name] and [name]Elizabeth[/name] are cute. Thanks for the suggestions!
Crackerz,
Thanks for the input! I think [name]Corinne[/name] is pretty, but I think I prefer [name]Corinna[/name]. [name]Coraline[/name] is cute, but I worry about confusion with [name]Caroline[/name].
I probably won’t end up using any “c” names if we go with [name]Cole[/name] for a boy. ;(
Thanks again to all of you for taking the time to read this and suggest so many great names!!!
