I’m working on two projects. The first, Gemstone, is a ten book series that I’m not currently having any trouble on (though I may post a thread for opinions on the character names) while the second, Icefire, is a series that doesn’t have a set amount of books in.
Icefire is about an all out war between two groups. The Hunters are people who at the age of twelve are marked with the sign of the hunt and if they refuse, they’re banished. Once marked, they acquire super strength and speed and depending on which hunt they’re in, they have special abilities too. They hunt the Dragons, people who can morph into a dragon at will. They’re born with their abilities but at eighteen, they also are marked signifying that they’re full grown and their strength increases. It is forbidden that a [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] and Dragon mate, and here’s where my story begins 
Now before I get into names, Hunters have “normal names” while Dragons have “strange names” (by that I mean foreign and foreign spelled names).
My main character is a regular fire breathing dragon named [name_m]Mikhail[/name_m]. He’s nineteen and betrothed to a dark Dragon (controls darkness) named [name_f]Niamh[/name_f]. She’s seventeen and isn’t marked yet. My main antagonist is an eighteen year old [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] named [name_u]Evelyn[/name_u] who is in a hunt with nineteen year old [name_m]Alec[/name_m] and eighteen year old [name_f]Linnea[/name_f]. At first she’s a regular [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] but on her eighteenth birthday, she’s marked with the mark of an ice dragon above the mark of her hunt. Ice dragons are extremely rare and people discover that she is half Dragon and half [name_u]Hunter[/name_u]. She’s nearly killed but runs away to a dragon coven to find answers to who her mother is and why her father disappeared, but is nearly killed there as well. Angered by her birth and how she’s treated, she adopts her Dragon name, [name_f]Aveline[/name_f], and vows to destroy all who wronged her. [name_m]Mikhail[/name_m] and [name_f]Niamh[/name_f] set out to stop her with the reluctant help of [name_m]Alec[/name_m] and [name_f]Linnea[/name_f] and soon come across [name_f]Aveline[/name_f]'s twenty one year old sister (who know one knew existed), [name_f]Guinevere[/name_f] (her [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] name is [name_f]Genevieve[/name_f]). She is also half [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] half Dragon and agrees to help them stop [name_f]Aveline[/name_f] if they help her find her parents. (Their father is a [name_u]Hunter[/name_u] named [name_m]Ethan[/name_m] and their mother is a dragon named [name_f]Caoimhe[/name_f])
