I’ve seen both of these and was wondering which was more generally liked.
- Ida
- Ada

ADORE [name_f]Ada[/name_f]
I was very split on this one for years, but thanks to some (character) associations I now have, [name_f]Ida[/name_f] (as ee-duh) is definitely my pick.
[name_f]Ida[/name_f]!
I think they are both fun !!
I’m personally biased as I have a family member named ida pronounced as “eye-duh” but her full name is [name_f]Idalina[/name_f]. I also have a friend that goes by [name_f]Ada[/name_f] pronounced “add-ah”. But I prefer [name_f]Ida[/name_f] as it’s not overused
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] by a long way for me. It’s strange considering they’re so similar but I just adore Ada’s Victorian vibe, its spunk and its timelessness whilst I’m not a fan of [name_f]Ida[/name_f]. For me, [name_f]Ida[/name_f] isn’t ‘fresh’ in the way [name_f]Ada[/name_f] is and I struggle to see it on a child.
I adore [name_f]Ida[/name_f]! It’s cute and brief but sturdy.
I like [name_f]Ada[/name_f] too, especially the connection to [name_f]Ada[/name_f] [name_u]Lovelace[/name_u], but I find the sound a bit overexposed – it’s very close to popular [name_f]Ava[/name_f], [name_f]Adalyn[/name_f], [name_f]Adeline[/name_f], et al.
Both are gorgeous but if it’s pronounced eye-duh, I prefer [name_f]Ida[/name_f]
[name_f]Ada[/name_f] sounds a lot more feminine and pretty, whereas in my opinion [name_f]Ida[/name_f] sounds a lot rougher and I’m personal not a fan of how it looks
I have a daughter named [name_f]Ada[/name_f]! I love the name (obviously) and we get a lot of compliments on her name. [name_f]Ida[/name_f] is lovely as well, but I prefer [name_f]Ada[/name_f] over it.
Also right now all I can think of when I hear [name_f]Ida[/name_f] is the hurricane currently hitting [name_f]Louisiana[/name_f], but that probably won’t make the name unusable in the long-term.
Like both, but I voted for [name_f]Ida[/name_f] because it’s less popular than Ada… however that may change with the hurricane hitting right now!
Even though they’re both only 1 letter different, Ida looks incomplete to me.
But both are lovely, I just prefer Ada!
To me where [name_f]Hurricane[/name_f] [name_f]Ida[/name_f] is currently making way I think [name_f]Ada[/name_f] has the advantage which may or may not stick depending on how impactful it turns out to be. [name_u]Henri[/name_u] is safe to use once again!
It’s [name_f]Ida[/name_f] all the way for me! I just ADORE it so much! It is such a sweet, spunky, and a little sassy underused classic!
I love them both so much!
