We are thinking [name]Ida[/name] [name]Violet[/name] with the nickname [name]Ivy[/name]. My mother thinks it horrible. What do you think?
I met a Norwegian girl named [name]Ida[/name] who pronounced it ee-dah, I think that sounds really pretty, but I’m not a fan of the i-dah pronunciation at all… I love [name]Ivy[/name], [name]Ada[/name], [name]Etta[/name], and [name]Eva[/name] though, I think any of those would be better options. [name]Violet[/name] is a pretty middle
I would just use [name]Ida[/name] instead of a nn, pronounced the same way the pp said (ee-dah, not i-dah which sounds very weird to me). [name]Ivy[/name] is cute, but to me why not just name her [name]Ivy[/name] if you like that more than [name]Ida[/name]?
[name]Ida[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is cute though.
Goodluck!
I love the name [name]Ida[/name], the combo [name]Ida[/name] [name]Violet[/name] and the nickname of [name]Ivy[/name] it’s all so sweet and perfect, I definitely think you should go for it, though I pronounce [name]Ida[/name] as eye-dah not ee-dah like the previous posters to be honest the pronunciation of ee-dah is bizarre to me
[name]Ida[/name] is a pretty name, it’s very popular in Scandinavia, I know a lot of them and they are always really nice, honourable girls. I don’t like the english pronounciation IE-dah, I like it the scandinavian way, EE-dah, much much prettier. [name]Ida[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is a winner.
I like [name]Ida[/name] a lot. I have a friend who named her daughter [name]Ola[/name] [name]May[/name] & I think it is just adorable. I know a little [name]Ingrid[/name] who’s nickname is [name]Ina[/name], too. My personal favorite names along those lines are [name]Ila[/name] and [name]Ina[/name]. I would be tickled if I met a little [name]Ida[/name] & I’d compliment the parents on her name. Good luck!
I think [name]Ida[/name] is okay, I’m not as crazy about it as I want to be. I like [name]Edith[/name], [name]Ava[/name], [name]Ada[/name], [name]Etta[/name], [name]Agnes[/name], and [name]Ivy[/name], so I’m not sure why I don’t love [name]Ida[/name]. I can definitely see it’s vintage appeal. But I really don’t understand using [name]Ivy[/name] as a nn for [name]Ida[/name]? Why not just name her [name]Ivy[/name]?
If you are planning on calling her [name]Ivy[/name], why not just name her that instead?
To me [name]Ida[/name] is a cute name, but it’s an old lady name, I have a hard time picturing it on a young kid. That doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use it, I like the trend of bringing back the old fashioned names very much.
My daughter’s mn is [name]Ida[/name] pronounced Ee-duh not Eye- duh. I love it.
[name]Ida[/name] [name]Violet[/name] is sweet! Either pronunciation and [name]Ivy[/name] is a creative nn!
