I’ve been trying to figure it too! In terms of the ending, I think the -lany is more distinctively Hispanic over Hawaiian, so if parents are hoping to use it as a form of [name_f]Aileen[/name_f] or [name_f]Aylin[/name_f], they might go for that to separate it from the Hawaiian name? Maybe?
[name_f][/name_f]From some digging, I’ve come across a couple of sort of ‘minor’ influencers (ie. between 10k and15k followers on ig) with kids called [name_f]Ailany[/name_f] (or Ailani) but nothing is leaping out as a reason[name_f][/name_f] for it becoming so popular?
[name_f][/name_f][name_f][/name_f]this made me laugh
