I completely agree!
I literally have to keep tabs open for even 2 days and keep reloading thhem to see if I’ve got a reply to a post
And the +1 system is quite nice, sometimes posters spend a lot of time and research on their reply and get no credit for their hard work, this could change that
I’d love to see it implemented and I tried in this thread a year ago. I tried bumping up my thread for pam and the other admins, but they never really said anything besides that they’d look into it and never commented again.
I know proboards has a similar thing with the +1 and they can change around cute little sayings for what +1 means. They also have the tagging feature. [name_m]Just[/name_m] more things that make nameberry more like a community would be nice.
Yes, nameberry is such an awesome community but it has such a dated and awkward platform. It will probably be difficult to get nameberry to want to spend programming money on it, but considering how intrusive and obnoxious the ad pop-ups are, things should be more organized and intuitive than they are and I think there would be more traffic in the forums to show for the improvements.
Hey everybody – We see you and hear you! We are planning to shift the forums to a better platform in the near future (meaning the next 3-6 months) and these specific ideas sound great – I will pass them along to [name_m]Hugh[/name_m]. I think many of you know that Nameberry was created and is run by a very small team of individuals – me, [name_f]Linda[/name_f], [name_m]Hugh[/name_m] who built and runs the technical side of the site, plus [name_u]Abby[/name_u] and now [name_m]Todd[/name_m] on the business side. We have help from the wonderful mods and assistants Esita and [name_m]Joe[/name_m]. But the point is we are not a corporation with a tech team or a graphics team or a corporate budget. If anyone wants to say anything directly to me or make sure I see an idea, please email me at pam@nameberry.com – that’s the best way to ensure that I will receive it.
Thanks for the idea. We really do like to receive them and take them seriously, even if we are not able to implement them as quickly as everyone would like.
