Ideas for my horror/hurt/comfort/phsychological story

I want to write a story that has some pretty dark themes and deals with a lot of issues. The first part is going to be very horror and gory, while the second part is going to be more psychological.

The story is going two follow two characters which I will describe below.

The main character will be a girl. She will be very smart, very emotional, very trusting, and a bit naive. She will be going to college after graduating high school early in a couple of months. She wants to become a psychologist, even after going through the horror the second character put her through. She puts a lot of hope in him and instead of being mad at him, hating him, and despising him, she finds that her way to heal is to believe that he can grow and change and she tried to help him. I would like her name to be a boho, unique, delicate name.

The second character will be a boy. He is a few years older then her. He is a serial killer. At the beginning of the story, he seems normal, if a bit odd. He turns out to be a very dynamic character and I would like the readers to have a “I hate you but I love you” pull to him. He has mental issues and deals with them later on, which is the basis of the second part of the story. The first part focuses on his killings. He actually guides the first characters and her friends on a “tour” which turns out to be a sort of maze where he does his killings. The main character is the only survivor. He ends up developing a strange relationship with her because she tries to help him so much, which he has never had. I would like him to have a name that was trendy in the 90’s and 00’s, but I would like it to be a bit edgy.

Some more details if you would like to know:

  • I want the story to be psychological story towards the end as the main character tries to deal with the horrors she had to deal with that night. She finds the only way she can heal is to believe that the situation can change and that the second character can grow. She needs to believe that so that she can feel like her friends deaths weren’t for nothing. It’s something that the second character simply doesn’t understand.

  • To give you a bit of understanding to how her brain is very kind: [name_u]Early[/name_u] on, she knows the only way to survive is to kill him, but when it comes time to do so, she only severely injures him. When she thinks he is dying, she actually starts crying and starts to say “I didn’t want to kill you, but I had too. You didn’t have to do this. I’m so sorry.”

  • They only start talking again because he reaches out to her while in prison, wanting to know why she said those things and why she didn’t want to kill him. He ends up having a strange relationship with her because he ends up caring about her very much by the very end of the book, but because he is so strange and so dynamic, I want their relationship to be as well, further bringing out how naive and caring the main character is.

  • Something the girls says throughout the whole book is “[name_f]Every[/name_f] human life is precious, including yours.”
