So we just found out we’re expecting and I’m all ready looking at names! I browse here all the time but DH has been much more interested this time around. I digress.
We don’t know gender (and I will stay team green if I can help it!) so we want ideas and input for boys and girls.
ODD is [name]Naomi[/name] [name]Elisabeth[/name]
YDD is [name]Emma[/name] [name]Katherine[/name]
Our top boys names are [name]Ezekiel[/name], [name]Ezra[/name], [name]Isaiah[/name], [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Mordecai[/name], and [name]Silas[/name]. We probably won’t deviate much from this list.
The girls names at the top of our list right now are [name]Anaya[/name], [name]Ariana[/name], [name]Claire[/name], [name]Juliette[/name], [name]Liliana[/name], [name]Petra[/name], [name]Shiloh[/name], [name]Veda[/name], [name]Victoria[/name]. These are the ones we both like.
A few of DH’s favorites are [name]Jane[/name], [name]Hannah[/name], and [name]Roma[/name].
A few of mine are [name]Maeve[/name], [name]Margaux[/name], and [name]Evangeline[/name].
We both tend toward a lot of the bible-names but it’s only a coincidence not intentional. I guess we like the anglicized hebrew or something. I’m not for matchy matchy or trends among the names. [name]Just[/name] looking for them to flow.
So yeah! I’d love input or ideas for us to consider!
I’ve always thought [name]Naomi[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name] would make an ideal pairing of sisters.
With [name]Emma[/name], though, I tend to think of it as suiting a more classic name as a pairing. I really like [name]Victoria[/name] from your list with [name]Emma[/name], though [name]Rose[/name] would fit in well too.
[name]Naomi[/name], [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Lydia[/name]
[name]Naomi[/name], [name]Emma[/name] and [name]Rose[/name].
[name]Both[/name] your daughters have pretty well-known, classic and easy to say and spell names, so I wouldn’t go too obscure with your third if it’s a girl. With a boy, many people have different tastes for each gender so the more unusual names wouldn’t stand out too much.
Thanks for all the great suggestions! We came up with [name]Maya[/name] [name]Eleanor[/name] and [name]Hannah[/name] [name]Juliette[/name] when we were talking. DH and I both really like [name]Ellen[/name] (makes me think of Degeneres!) too but we’re not sure how to pair it. I suggested [name]Eleanor[/name] as a first with nn [name]Ellen[/name], [name]Elle[/name], or [name]Ellie[/name] and maybe one of our family names or a variation ([name]Roma[/name], [name]Thelma[/name], [name]Mae[/name], [name]Ramona[/name], [name]Claudine[/name], [name]Mamie[/name], Mardelle, [name]Pearl[/name], [name]Josephine[/name]) for a middle. Maybe not? Apparently my great-great grandmother was [name]Ellie[/name] so that nn is even more appealing.
Oh, and we both like the name [name]Lydia[/name] but DH doesn’t want to use it because of someone he knew. He doesn’t like [name]Vivienne[/name], [name]Sara[/name], or [name]Caroline[/name] for the same reason.
[name]Victoria[/name], [name]Eleanor[/name], [name]Josephine[/name], [name]Jane[/name] and [name]Claire[/name] are previously mentioned names that I think would be perfect.
I saw [name]Margo[/name], but what about [name]Margaret[/name]?
Others:
[name]Molly[/name]
[name]Norah[/name]
[name]Susanna[/name]
[name]Lucy[/name]
[name]Eve[/name] or [name]Eva[/name]
[name]Tessa[/name] or [name]Tess[/name]
