Congrats to you! Identical twins pose a special challenge for parents. Not only is it double the work but how do you differentiate between the two girls who look alike. The first thing a parent can do is to treat each child as an individual and a good place to begin is when naming them. I would advise you to practice the following guidelines:
Avoid same initials (you’ve done that with your choices)
Avoid matchy sounds (no [name_f]Macy[/name_f] and [name_u]Casey[/name_u]. You’ve done that too!)
Choose names from the same style group (although [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] are from the Bible, I find them mismatched in style. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] is a classic and timeless name. [name_u]Eden[/name_u], a place name and unisex surname, is more of a contemporary choice).
If possible, choose names of the same length (even though your pairs contain names of different syllables or number of letters, they all look pretty balanced when they’re written out on the page).
From your list as they are now, I would choose…
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] - these two names are beautiful together.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] - not ideal as I explained above but I do like both names.
[name_u]Devin[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] - a little too unisex for my comfort level. I like the name [name_u]Devin[/name_u] but for a boy. I don’t like [name_u]Sage[/name_u] for any gender. There is a subtle connection between [name_u]Poet[/name_u] ([name_u]Devin[/name_u]) and [name_u]Sage[/name_u].
Other Twin Options:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] means “grace”, so maybe [name_f]Grace[/name_f] and [name_f]Anna[/name_f] would be a nice twin set, with a connection without being too matchy?
From your list, I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f], and [name_u]Devin[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. I associate [name_u]Devin[/name_u] more with boys; I’d change the spelling to [name_u]Devon[/name_u] so it’s a place name and use [name_u]Devon[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u], since [name_u]Devon[/name_u] in [name_f]England[/name_f] has dramatic moors so they kind of both have a nature connection.
I also like [name_u]Mischa[/name_u]'s suggestion of [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u], plus [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f], then if you really like matching sounds you can call them [name_f]Edie[/name_f] and [name_f]Gracie[/name_f], but they’ll still have distinct names and room to form their own personalities.
Middle name suggestion:
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Eden[/name_u] [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] [name_f]Anna[/name_f]
[name_u]Devin[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] would be unexpected and refreshing, and even better with girly middle names.
[name_f]Anna[/name_f] is ok, but I love [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] lately, which has a familiar sound, but is not [name_f]Annabel[/name_f], whoch I don’t mind, but [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] would be adorable.
[name_f]Juliet[/name_f]/[name_f]Juliette[/name_f] or [name_f]Julianna[/name_f] with [name_f]Annabeth[/name_f] would be gorgeous.
I prefer [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] because, although I love both [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u], they stylistically clash. However, I second the suggestion of [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] because both names mean “grace” and it ties them together subtly.
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] are lovely as a set. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] fits as well, and could go with either one as all three are the same style. Best wishes!
I know this isn’t quite what you asked, but I really like the combo [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u]. They seem to be more of the same style, they just sound great together to me. Good luck!
You’re considering [name_u]Devin[/name_u] for a girl?! That’s MY name! (I spell it [name_u]Devon[/name_u]). Most berries HATE [name_u]Devin[/name_u] on a girl and are pretty lukewarm on [name_u]Devin[/name_u] for a boy so I’m excited to see some love for it on any gender.
If it’s not obvious, I love my name. No one has ever said anything negative although I’m sure there are people who don’t prefer it but I have gotten A LOT of compliments on it through the years. People think it is a ‘cool girl’ name and I’d have to agree, though I’m a bit biased. The only downsides I’ve ever had are 1) there’s lots of ways to spell it - [name_u]Devin[/name_u], [name_u]Devon/name_u, [name_u]Devyn[/name_u], [name_u]Devan[/name_u], [name_u]Deven[/name_u]; 2) I get called [name_f]Dee[/name_f]-[name_m]VON[/name_m] a lot when people read it, your spelling will help with that; 3) Things get addressed to me as “Mr.” quite a bit; 4) It’s not easily pronounceable in other languages. I speak fluent Spanish and am around hispanics quite a bit, and have traveled extensively and NO ONE in the hispanic community can pronounce this name. I just tell them to call me by my middle name.
That being said, none of those things have ever really bothered me and I just laugh about the “Mr.” thing But I’m also extremely laid back and they may bother you so I’m putting them out there.
Because I like my name I also really like unisex/guys names for girls so I also love the name [name_u]Sage[/name_u]!
And…. after such a lengthy post you may be surprised to note that my vote is actually for [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f]. I would go with [name_u]Devin[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u] but although they are both modern unisex names there is something that doesn’t sound quite right to my ears when said together. [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Julia[/name_f] sound perfect together though. But really, once your kids grow up they won’t be “[name_u]Devin[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u]” they’ll be just “[name_u]Devin[/name_u]” and just “[name_u]Sage[/name_u]” and those names are definitely your coolest picks so maybe you should got that route after all
I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]. I don’t think [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] go very well together.
I like [name_u]Devin[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u], but actually prefer [name_u]Devon[/name_u], because it reminds me of a beautiful childhood friend, and also of the British Isles. I’m not sure I would use two unisex names. That said, I think [name_u]Devon[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u] would be lovely together, as would [name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]. But [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] is still my favourite of all.
[name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f]
[name_u]Sage[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Devon[/name_u] and [name_u]Eden[/name_u]
[name_u]Devin[/name_u]/[name_u]Devon[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u]
Congrats! From your list I like [name_f]Julia[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] as a set, classy and pretty. But I see from your previous post you have a son named [name_m]Jonah[/name_m]? [name_f]Julia[/name_f] is quite matchy with [name_m]Jonah[/name_m]… I’d switch your names around a bit and use [name_f]Anna[/name_f] and [name_f]Grace[/name_f] or [name_u]Eden[/name_u] and [name_u]Sage[/name_u], personally… Good luck!
