Identical Twin Girls

Hello =)

I just found out I am having twins. [name]Both[/name] my husband and I are having a difficult time choosing names for our girls. I want them each name to have a different first letter and I would like it if they did not rhyme. I figure with identical twins they will be matchy-matchy enough just with looks so their names should be unique (but from the same genre). [name]Both[/name] my husband and I are drawn towards more gender neutral names for girls, but are open to less trendy/unique names too. We have both liked the name [name]Piper[/name] (been on our list for the past 8+ years). Another name we have been toying with is [name]Riley[/name] (or [name]Rylie[/name], [name]Rylee[/name]).

[name]Do[/name] you all have any other suggestions?

Thanks for all of your help!

Congratulations! I think that having unique names in the same style for your girls is the best idea - as you say, looking the same will be matchy enough!

I like [name]Piper[/name]. Less keen on [name]Riley[/name] (just because my ex used to [name]LOVE[/name] it, so ignore my opinion on this one!). Some other names you may like (I apologise if this is quite long, but I’ve been collecting unisex names for a little while now):

[name]Do[/name] you have any other children who’s names we should consider while suggesting names for you?

Here’s a few options

Unisex:
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Drew[/name]
[name]Cameron[/name]
[name]Lane[/name]
[name]Reese[/name]
[name]Blair[/name]
[name]Rory[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Blake[/name]
[name]Haven[/name]
[name]Harper[/name]

Others I thought you may like: : )
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Maeve[/name]
[name]Dasha[/name]
[name]Flora[/name]
[name]Lilac[/name]
[name]Nora/name
[name]Willa[/name]
[name]Rose[/name] (as a first name)
[name]Frances[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]

Lamps and I were writing ours at the same time. Sorry for repeats.

Someone suggested [name]Avery[/name], i love that with the name you already said you love::
[name]Avery[/name] and [name]Piper[/name] would make the cutest set of twins…
So adorable!!

[name]Riley[/name] is more popular as a unisex name. It’s not that I hear it all the time, it’s just it seems to be the most popular (in my area) of the unisex bunch. I’ve always loved [name]Piper[/name] as well as [name]Parker[/name], [name]Paulie[/name] (short for [name]Paulina[/name]) and [name]Poppy[/name] (not unisex but hey it starts with a “P”).

Lamps has got a great list of unisex names going, it will be tough to add to it but I’ll try. I tried not to repeat, my apologies if I did.

[name]Allen[/name]/[name]Allyn[/name] - well I like it anyway.
[name]Benni[/name]
[name]Berlin[/name]
[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Charlie[/name] - you might want this as a nn for a longer name. I do love it on it’s own though.
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Carlin[/name] nn [name]Carly[/name] or none at all.
[name]Chandler[/name]
[name]Channing[/name]
[name]Dorian[/name] nn [name]Dora[/name] or [name]Dori[/name] or none at all.
[name]Gray[/name]
[name]Grayson[/name] - I hear [name]Grace[/name], which I love but it’s popular. The spelling of this is very masculine. I still like it for a girl.
[name]Henley[/name]
[name]Jo[/name] - there are lots of longer names that could achieve this nn.
[name]Kinsley[/name]
[name]London[/name]
[name]Linden[/name] - nn [name]Lindy[/name]/[name]Lindie[/name] a favorite of mine.
[name]Landry[/name]
[name]Max[/name] - nn for [name]Maxine[/name]
[name]Marley[/name] - could use [name]Marla[/name] and nn [name]Marley[/name]
[name]Nick[/name] - short for [name]Nicola[/name], [name]Nicole[/name], [name]Nicolette[/name]
[name]Ollie[/name] - short for [name]Olivia[/name] or on it’s own.
[name]Paulie[/name]/[name]Pauli[/name] - nn for [name]Paulina[/name]
[name]Porter[/name] - a bit more masculine than the rest.
[name]Reed[/name]/[name]Reid[/name]
[name]Rory[/name] - a nn name with longer verserions. [name]Veronica[/name], [name]Aurora[/name] ect.
[name]Romy[/name] - a nn for [name]Rosemary[/name] or [name]Rosemarie[/name] but I love it by itself.
[name]Reagan[/name]
[name]Shay[/name]/[name]Shae[/name]/[name]Shea[/name] - pretty feminine though.
[name]Sterling[/name]
[name]Schuyler[/name]/[name]Skylar[/name]
[name]Teagan[/name]
[name]Toby[/name] - I love for a girl. I’m probably alone with this one.

Congratulations! I like [name]Piper[/name] too. I think they should also have different endings–[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Harper[/name] for example might still be too matchy.
[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Avery[/name]
[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Audra[/name]
[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Linden[/name]
[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Shea[/name]
[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Barrett[/name]

I like the following with [name]Piper[/name]:

[name]Chloe[/name]
[name]Sydney[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Tatum[/name]**
[name]Sadie[/name]
[name]Archer[/name]
[name]Morgan[/name]

[name]Piper[/name] and:

[name]Bellamy[/name]
[name]Connolly[/name]
[name]Ellis[/name]
[name]Eden[/name]
[name]Linden[/name]
[name]Marlo[/name]
[name]Romilly[/name] (nn [name]Romy[/name])

(Sorry about repeats!)

Good luck!

Wow, congrats! I have a boy and a girl, and another girl is coming up soon, so I know what it’s like to be expecting. [name]Piper[/name] is also a fave of mine and [name]Riley[/name] has been on my list for centuries! Other names you could consider:
[name]Nicole[/name]
[name]Jamie[/name] or [name]Janie[/name]
[name]Carter[/name]
[name]Avery[/name] (that seems to be a fave)
[name]Hazel[/name]

[name]Liz[/name] or [name]Elizabeth[/name] or [name]Eliza[/name] or [name]Beth[/name]
[name]Hero[/name] (fave [name]Shakespeare[/name] name)
[name]Carson[/name] (yes, it is a girl name, too)
[name]Skylar[/name] or [name]Skyler[/name]
[name]Parker[/name]
[name]Halee[/name]
[name]Hadley[/name]
[name]Blakely[/name]
[name]Bailey[/name]

Thanks and good luck! (My boy and girl’s names are [name]Ryan[/name] and [name]Lidia[/name], and my soon-to-be baby girl is a maybe [name]Megan[/name] and a prob [name]Camille[/name].)

Thanks for your help. I listed the names I liked below out of your list

[name]Avery[/name] (Never thought of this name, but it does go with [name]Piper[/name])
[name]Bailey[/name] ([name]Love[/name] this, but our last name starts with B and there is too much alliteration)
[name]Evan[/name] (I like this name but for a boy)
[name]Finley[/name] (I like this as well, but I’m not sure if I could live with the nn Finny…[name]Finn[/name] is better)
[name]Hayden[/name] (really like this, but it does not mesh well with our last name [name]Breton[/name])
[name]Marlowe[/name] (this name grew on my after [name]Heather[/name] armstrong from dooce named her daughter [name]Marlo[/name])
[name]Noa[/name] (I’ve never seen this on before…I like it though)
[name]Paige[/name] ([name]Love[/name] this, but I have a cousin with the same name)
[name]Reece[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]
[name]Sawyer[/name] (love this name, actually it was one of our top boy names)

This list has got me thinking… =)

[name]Hi[/name]-

Thanks for your list. These will be our first…and second babies. No other children’s names to factor in. Below are the names I liked from your list.

Unisex:
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Cameron[/name] (I like this…I like the nn [name]Cami[/name]
[name]Rowan[/name]

Others I thought you may like:
[name]Hazel[/name] (drawn to this one)
[name]Finley[/name]

Thanks =)

I agree that [name]Riley[/name] is definitely a popular unisex name. That’s what’s got me concerned. Originally, I was thinking about the name Rylinn, but I was afraid people would pronounce it [name]Rye[/name]-lynn (with the emphasis on lynn). My husband liked Rylinn but said He would call her by the nn [name]Riley[/name].

Below are the names I liked from your list:

[name]Emery[/name]
[name]Charlie[/name] - you might want this as a nn for a longer name. I do love it on it’s own though. (I love this as a nn too)
[name]Henley[/name] (I like this but not sure if I’m brave enough)
[name]London[/name] (like it but is it too popular)?
[name]Reagan[/name]

Thanks!

[name]Piper[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] are really starting to grow on me as a pair =)

I like [name]Sydney[/name]!

Out of those I think I am the most drawn to [name]Marlowe[/name] or [name]Marlo[/name]. Thanks for the suggestions!

[name]Hi[/name]-

[name]Avery[/name] (that seems to be a fave)
[name]Hazel[/name]
[name]Samantha[/name] (love this name but its really popular)
[name]Madison[/name]( same as above…love love love this name and the nn [name]Maddie[/name])

Good luck with your little ones and your baby to be. I appreciate the help!

I think [name]Piper[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] go together beautifully! Especially if you give them feminine mns like [name]Piper[/name] [name]Rose[/name] and [name]Avery[/name] [name]Belle[/name].

[name]Noa[/name] is one of my favourites. It’s actually a really popular girls’ name in [name]Israel[/name] and isn’t just a version of [name]Noah[/name] but a name on its own meaning “movement, motion”. I think it’s very pretty and goes well with [name]Piper[/name].

I look forward to seeing your shortlist!

First, I wanted to thanks everyone for their suggestions. Below is my short list (as of right now =)

[name]Piper[/name] (my husband is a pilot, and I love the aviation connection)
[name]Riley[/name]
[name]Siena[/name] (Like the town, not the color)
[name]Sierra[/name]
[name]Avery[/name]
[name]Finley[/name]

So I really like [name]Piper[/name]. Fairly set on that one. [name]Do[/name] you all have any suggestions on how to pair these up? Any suggestions for middle names? I would prefer a more feminine middle name for the unisex first names (I realize [name]Siena[/name] is pretty feminine so maybe a more unisex mn?) Also, I just came upon the name [name]Siena[/name] recently. What do you all think about this spelling versus the more popular [name]Sienna[/name]?
