Identical twins - Arabella & Willow?

Hello,

I am expecting identical twins and thinking of names in case they are girls. (we don’t know the gender as we want to leave the sex as a surprise but I will do boys ideas in a separate thread)

I have always loved the name [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] so that will definitely be one of the names. We also like [name_f]Willow[/name_f] but not sure if they flow well together? At the moment our top picks are [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f] & [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Kate[/name_f] ([name_f]Willow[/name_f] & [name_f]Belle[/name_f] as nn) - would appreciate peoples feedback on this! If don’t think they sound good together would love some suggestions for an alternative name to go alongside [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]?

An other name we like is [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] - [name_f]Do[/name_f] [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] & [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] flow better?

Thanks!

I think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are fine, but I think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] flows better, or even [name_f]Arabelle[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f].

For me, [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are two different styles but they don’t have to be perfect together. Use what you love. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are the same style and flow nicely together.

I agree that while [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are fine, [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] are a little more well-balanced.

I think in the case of [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f], it might help if [name_f]Willow[/name_f] had a frillier middle name—[name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Katherine[/name_f] or [name_f]Katrina[/name_f] instead of [name_f]Kate[/name_f], perhaps. If you’re really concerned with balance, you could also try pairing a sleek, no-frills middle name with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f]—something like [name_u]Quinn[/name_u], [name_u]Jean[/name_u], [name_f]Tess[/name_f], [name_u]River[/name_u], or [name_u]Rue[/name_u] would work.

I’d say if you love [name_f]Willow[/name_f] and [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] you should use those. I personally like when twins’ names aren’t too matchy because it lends them more individuality, which I know from experience can be a struggle especially for identical twins.

This was pretty much exactly what I was going to say. I just wanted to add [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] [name_f]Rose[/name_f]/[name_f]Kate[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] would be beautiful as well and help balance each other out.

To me [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are a little different in style, but they still sound good together to my ear, and as previous posters said it’s good for identical twins to express some individuality through their names! If you are concerned about having a more well-balanced there I’d consider swapping the middle names, as [name_f]Rose[/name_f] is more frilly and feminine than [name_f]Kate[/name_f] to me. [name_f]Arabel/name_f and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] would also work well, although you might love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] more than [name_f]Arabel/name_f. I like [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] well, I agree they feel more alike in style/vibe while still maintaining a very individual sound.

I think they are different styles but they work together both having the double LL. I actually think [name_f]Willow[/name_f] is a better match for [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] since they are both “pretty” names whereas [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is more clunky-cute. I think [name_f]Willa[/name_f] or [name_f]Wilhelmina[/name_f] would go well with [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] too.

I think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] flow worse. I love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f], both with stunning middles.

Sibling names do not have to match. [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] are beautiful names and well-matched in trendiness if not style… whatever that means to you.

I think [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] work as twin names. Like a pp said, they both have the ‘ll’ sound and a modern vibe. I prefer them together rather than [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Matilda[/name_f], where one is frilly and the other clunky. (Though [name_f]Matilda[/name_f] is my favourite name of the 3).

I prefer the combination of Arabella and Matilda, which I think is great. I second the suggestion of Wilhelmina, perhaps nn Willow. A few other ideas:

Arabella & Leonora
Arabella & Clementine
Arabella & Rosalind
Arabella & Philomena
Arabella & Priscilla
Arabella & Georgina
Arabella & Juliet
Arabella & Claudia
Arabella & Simona
Arabella & Millicent
Arabella & Evangeline
Arabella & Dorothea
Arabella & Florence

I love [name_f]Arabella[/name_f] and [name_f]Willow[/name_f] as twins! I think they flow together perfectly
