If Adèle gets a baby sister...?

I’m new to the forum, and my husband and I need some help naming our second child! We already have a 2 year old, [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle [name_f]Josephine[/name_f]. [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle was my husband’s grandmothers name and we wanted to honor her, and [name_f]Josephine[/name_f] is one that we just loved.

We like the idea of using another french name, especially as my husband is [name_m]French[/name_m] (he moved to the UK when he was about 15 - but we’re planning on moving to [name_f]France[/name_f] sometime within the next few years).

Some names we’ve thought about are:
[name_f]Camille[/name_f]
[name_m]Sol[/name_m]ène (So-[name_m]LEN[/name_m])
[name_f]Lena[/name_f]
Cécile (say-[name_m]SEEL[/name_m])
[name_f]Evelyne[/name_f]
[name_f]Margot[/name_f]
Inès
Léonie (lay-o-NEE)

We also like (but can’t use): [name_f]Amelie[/name_f], [name_f]Chloe[/name_f], [name_f]Delphine[/name_f], [name_f]Emma[/name_f]. Also, our surname is two syllables and starts with an F.

We’d love some feedback on our list so far, and if you have any suggestions then we’d really love to hear any!

I like [name_f]Camille[/name_f] and [name_f]Margot[/name_f], I think they both sound very pretty with [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle.

[name_f]Evelyne[/name_f] or Léonie, definitely. They have the same beautiful, sophisticated feel as [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle has. I love both names though so I am totally biased. I also like [name_f]Margot[/name_f] with [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle but not as much as the other two.

And a few suggestions (not that you need any, your list is lovely):

I like [name_f]Camille[/name_f] the best. I also love Soliel, even though it’s not on your list!

mommax2, thank you! [name_f]Do[/name_f] you mean [name_f]Soleil[/name_f]? I love that name and I love that it means sun! [name_f]My[/name_f] husband isn’t keen on it though, he says it reminds him of [name_f]Soleil[/name_f] [name_f]Moon[/name_f] Frye so he wont consider it. :rolleyes:

I love [name_f]Margot[/name_f] with [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle. Definitely my favorite by far, but I also like [name_f]Lena[/name_f].

You seem to have a fondness for the letter “l”. :slight_smile: Your daughter’s name and all but two of the names under consideration contain that letter. Perhaps that’s why I love the spunky [name_f]Margot[/name_f] the best with [name_m]Ad[/name_m]èle.
