If baby is a boy- Samuel Luke OR Luke OR?

We would be so thrilled! and Surprised as we have 7 girls  three boys (2 adopted and our oldest who is 16 is our only biological son…)…
All of our sons have biblical names :[name]Jonah[/name] [name]Joseph[/name], [name]Levi[/name] [name]Benjamin[/name] and [name]Isaiah[/name] [name]Daniel[/name].
We were pretty set on [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name]… but all three of the little girls have S names ([name]Sophie[/name], [name]Sarah[/name] and [name]Serena[/name]), so I am wondering is another S in a row, even on a boy may be a bit much. Thoughts? Hubby also like [name]Luke[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]… I am not as sure of the flow. He has completely vetoed [name]Asher[/name]… which I love… He also LOVES the name [name]Ian[/name], but, I feel he would feel really out of place being the only son with a non-Biblical name. A few other names we have thrown around:
[name]Matthew[/name], [name]Josiah[/name] (too close to [name]Jonah[/name]?), [name]John[/name] (in honor of hubby)or [name]John[/name]-[name]Patrick[/name] (which I love, but to me it has a totally different “feel” than our other boys’ names…Last name is 3 syllable starts with ES ends with “ah” sound… … So I am open for ideas and suggestions  We have about 5 weeks to go before our ultrasound

I think [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Serena[/name] and [name]Samuel[/name] wouldn’t be as bad as having another S- name girl, but I’d go against it. [name]Luke[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] actually flows better to me because [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name] has back to back L sounds and to me runs a bit like Samueluke.

[name]Josiah[/name], to me, is too close to [name]Jonah[/name] - I don’t know if [name]Jonah[/name] goes by his full name all the time but both him and [name]Josiah[/name] could end up going by [name]Jo[/name]/[name]Joe[/name] one day which could get confusing. [name]John[/name] is also a bit close to [name]Jonah[/name] in how it looks, to me. [name]John[/name]-[name]Patrick[/name] is actually rather nice, what about [name]John[/name]-[name]Luke[/name]? Two biblical names which fits in with your boys’ names, and if I remember rightly some of your girls have hyphenated names too which would mean his name wouldn’t stand out too much.

That’s a lot of s’s… [name]How[/name] about [name]Ezra[/name]?

[name]Luke[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] flows nicely ([name]IMO[/name])

Hubby vetoed [name]Ezra[/name] as well. We did consider [name]John[/name]-[name]Luke[/name], but I am just not loving it. Yes, several of our girls do have hyphenated names  I do really like [name]Luke[/name], a lot…

What about [name]Lucas[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]? Or [name]Luca[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]? A variation on [name]Luke[/name]… While not strictly in the (English) Bible, [name]Lucas[/name] is the pronunciation of the name in the original Greek I believe.

[name]Lucas[/name] is nice, but sounds awful with our last name…

[name]Luke[/name] [name]Solomon[/name]
[name]Luke[/name] [name]Gabriel[/name]
[name]Luke[/name] [name]Zachariah[/name]
[name]Luke[/name] [name]Raphael[/name]

I quite like biblical names…

[name]Joshua[/name]
[name]Noah[/name]
[name]Reuben[/name]
[name]Seth[/name]
[name]Mark[/name]
[name]Ethan[/name]
[name]Matthew[/name]
[name]Andrew[/name]

I love [name]Luke[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] and [name]John[/name] [name]Patrick[/name]! Or even [name]Patrick[/name] [name]John[/name].

Erm, [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name]. For sure. I just love the idea of you with a [name]Samuel[/name]! [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name] is fab and goes so well with your others, and for some reason, I really don’t mind the idea of [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Serena[/name], and [name]Samuel[/name] anywhere near as much as I minded [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Serena[/name], and something like [name]Susannah[/name] or [name]Sybil[/name], even (although, now that I think of it, I REALLY love the idea of [name]Sophie[/name], [name]Sarah[/name], [name]Serena[/name], and [name]Sybil[/name] as sisters!). [name]Samuel[/name] just seems… so you. Although I would propose [name]Samuel[/name] [name]John[/name]. Have you considered it? I’m biased because I’m about 98% sure I’m using [name]John[/name] with [name]Samuel[/name] on my boys’ list (probably [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Gaspard[/name] [name]John[/name] or [name]Samuel[/name] [name]John[/name] [name]Gaspard[/name]), but at the same time, I love [name]John[/name]'s meaning for you, and [name]Samuel[/name] [name]John[/name] just seems to pair up so well! Besides, it gets rid of the smooshy feel of [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name] that turns into Samuluk…

@ashthedreamer is right: [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name] is very handsome, and it does fit! So I vote for:

[name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name]
[name]Luke[/name] [name]Samuel[/name]
[name]Samuel[/name] [name]John[/name]
[name]John Patrick[/name]
[name]John Matthew[/name]
[name]Patrick John[/name]

[name]Luke[/name] [name]Samuel[/name] sounds better than [name]Samuel[/name] [name]Luke[/name]. I’m a huge fan of [name]Samuel[/name] though, so it kind of pains me to suggest that you bump it to the middle spot. I also really like [name]Matthew[/name] with your kids’ names.
